The Young Adults’ Class of
Maple Grove Methodist Chursh,
Pikes Creek, will sponsor a Sha-
ghetti supper on Saturday evening,
October 12, Serving will begin at
five o’clock.
Douglas Young, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Beuka, sustained 5
fractured arm last week when hs
fell from his bicycle while playing
at his home. Dougie is an active
member of the Sweet Valley Little
League and Boy Scout Troop 444.
On Sunday afternoon, September,
8, the Third Order of St. Francis,
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church,
Lake Silkworth will sponsor an ice
cream social. Mrs. Michael Ma- |;

Mrs. Jack McClure were vacation-
ing at Atlantic City. The Maran-

duty at Fort Eustice, Virginia.
Mrs. Preston Mingus has re-
turned to her home after being a
surgical patient at Berwick General
Hospital. Preston’s mother was
also a patient at the same institu-
tion, undergoing surgery the same

1963 at 3:30 pm. Den I will meet

Well the summer is almost gone

A DOUBLE SURPRISE
A going-away party was planned
by the MYF Council as a surprise
for two of the MYF'ers. Unknown
to the student assistant, Thomas
Clemow, who helped to plan the
surprise, he was to find the tables
turned and was totally unprepared
for the surprise which included,
him. For the party turmed into a
thank-you for him as well as a
going-away party for Ronnie Earl
and Sharon LaBar., Ronnie is going
to East Stroudsburg to school and
Sharon is going to Pennsylvania
Hospital School of Nursing.
The party was on Sunday night,
August 25 and was prepared at Mt.
Zion Church by Mrs. Leon Van-
Tuyle and Mrs. William LaBar while
the young folks were out on a
scavenger hunt. [Suitable gifts were
given all three. Those present
wre: Sharon LaBar, Susan [LaBar,
Malcolm Harris, Thomas Marcy,
Wayne Scull, Hal Seiple, Mike Bell,
Jackie Van Tuyle, Billy Miles, Na-
deen VanTuyle, Ronnie Earl and
Thomas Clemow. Thomas Clemow
is returning to his studies at Wilkes
College.
Raymond Earl, son of Mrs. Au-
drey Earl had the misfortune to
have a wreck with his bicycle re-
sulting in a fractured arm, How-
ever, it needed no cast.
A number of hen pheasants have
recently been released over on the
Camp Ground to Mt. Zion church
road and are busy looking around
for new homes and adventures.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Philbin and
son, Michael, Bronx, New York,
have returned home after gpend-
ing two weéks with Mrs. Philbin’s,
parents, Mr. amd Mrs. Wallace
Perrin, Holly Street.
Wallace Perrin and his grandson
have returned after a few days
spent in Williamsport, visiting
friends.
Arline Bessmer had as luncheon
guests recently, Mrs. Eunice Norris,
and Mrs. Neda Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. Byron Ide and four
daughters, Debbie, Donna, Denise
and Doreen of Fort Wayne, Indiana,
have been visiting his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Howard Ide, Trucksville.

Mrs. J. S. Warkomski at her home,
