Seventy or more relatives gather-
ed on Saturday afternoon at Forty |
Fort Methodist Church to honor |
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Strohl who
celebrated their golden anniversary.
The Strohls were former Back |
Mountain residents. Mrs. Strohl is |
the former Freida Vopleus.
Rev. Porter Adams, pastor of the
church, spoke briefly on “God's
Blessing on Two Fine People” and
invoked a divine blessing on the
couple privileged to live 50 years
in wedded bliss.
Dinner was served to the large
number of relatives and friends who
came from as far west as Colorado !

as Massachusetts and as far north
as northern New York.
Mrs. Strohl formerly lived in
Marsh Creek and her husband was |
a former Noxen native. They were
married August 27, 1913.

"Miss Dorothy Weaver, daughter
of Mrs. Fred Weaver, Huntsville
Road, Trucksville, is spending some
time with her mother before resum-
ing her duties as a teacher in New
Jersey Schools.
Miss Weaver, who was a former
music faculty member at Kingston
Township recently returned from a
trip around the world.
The six week air tour covered
24,000 miles and she traveled on
seventeen planes to reach the many
sections of th globe visited.
Countries visited included Hawaii,
Japan, Hongkong, Formosa, Thai-
land, India, Israel, Greco: Turkey,
and Spain.
Have Baby Girl
Major and Mrs. Jack Wills, for-
mer residents of Parrish Street,
Dallas, became the parents of a little
girl, Wendy Ann, August 21, at
Fort Stewart Hospital in Georgia.
There are two other children, Jack
and Jill. Mrs. Wills is the forme»
