Mrs. Emma D. Harry, 85, Benton,
| R. D. # 1 who died Saturday eve-
ning at a nursing home in Orange-
| ville, was laid to rest Wednesday

Evelyn Hauck, 68
Dies In New York
Mother Of Architect
Was Music Teacher
The entire community was sad-
dened yesterday morning to learn
of the death of Mrs. Evelyn Hauck,
68, Perrin Avenue, Shavertown,
Wednesday evening at Cancer
Memorial Hospital, New York City.
Mrs. Hauck, mother of Lester
Hauck, prominent architect and
Kingston Township Supervisor, was
stricken ill several months ago and
had waged a valiant battle against
overwhelming odds. | Hospitalized
at General for a number of weeks,
she was removed to the New York
Medical Center the first week in
July, where she underwent four
operations. She had made progress
until the past week when she slip-
ped into a coma.
Mrs. Hauck was born in New
York (City, daughter of the late
George and Hattie Berger Romme.
She was educated in New York City
Schools and studied piano and
voice. She was a well known soloist
during her earlier years.
Her husband, William, died many
years ago.
She moved to Shavertown eight
years ago, where she since has re-
sided with her son. Kindly, in-
terested in both family friends and
community she was a well loved
“figure.
Mrs. Hauck was a member of
Trinity United Presbyterian Church,
Dallas, and its societies, serving as
first organist at the new church.
She was also a member of Eastern
Star, Dallas (Chapter 396 and a
member of its choral group.

in addition to her son, Mrs. Howard
Thiessen, Paterson, N. J.; Mrs.
James Staytom, Greensboro, N. C,;
ten grandchildren; brothers, Allen
Romme, Beaver Lake, N. J., and
Percy Romme, Teaneck, N. J.

At General Hospital
Little Pammy Sue Hallock, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hallock,
Tunkhannock, R.D. 5, was laid to
rest Sunday afternoon from the Nul-
ton Funeral Home, Beaumont.
‘Services were conducted by Rev.
Warren Hathway, Independent Bible
Church, Noxen. Interment was in
Orcutt Cemetery.
The tem month old child was
stricken suddenly ill two weeks ago,
complaining of a sore throat. She
was admitted to General Hospital,
where she succumbed Friday after-
noon.
Her mother is the former Norma
Thompson. Six brothers and sisters
also survive, Larry, James, Dennis,
Joamne, Bonny, and Jean, at home,
and maternal grandfather, Norman
Thomas, Noxen.
Mrs. Fanny King Dies
In Bloomsburg Hospital
Mrs. Fanny King, 80, Pikes
Creek, died suddenly at Bloomsburg |
Saturday morning after \

having been admitted on Friday.
Complaining of not feeling well
earlier in the week, she had been
taken to the home of her daughter,
Mrs. R. E. Williams, Orangeville.
When she did not improve it was
thought best to have her hospital-
ized.
A resident of Pikes Creek: for
the past forty years, Mrs. King was
the daughter of the late John and
Elnora Puterbaugh Kreidler. She
had resided in Kingston before
moving to Pikes Creek.
Her husband, Harry E. passed
away forty one years ago.
She is survived by two other
daughters, Mrs. Howard Roat,
Kingston and Natalie King, Mount
Clemens, Michigan; three grand-
children and two great grandchil-
dren. Also the following brothers
and sisters: Mrs. Mildred Schultz,
Dallas; Eugene Kreidler, Idetown;
Butler Kreidler, Harvey's Lake;
Thomas Kreidler, Conn.; Mrs. Irma
Rucco, Philadelphia.

died in 1943. She was born in
Boston, Mass., daughter of the

Church, she was active in its
