Mr. and Mrs. William Drabick
recently. had as guests, Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Draper of Alexandria, Va.
Mr. and Mrs. Draper also visited
Mrs. Achie Major and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Eddy Cilvik’s son,
Willard cut ‘his foot on a piece of
glass. The doctor had to use eleven
stitches to close the wound.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Ide spent
Thursday in: Jersey Shore visiting
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rice. The Rice
family formerly lived in Lehman.
Mr. and Mrs. 'John Hudak have
returned to their home on Hunts-
ville-Idetown Road after spemding
several days .in New York City,
Susanne, their daughter stayed
with Grandma and Grandpa Ide,
and had a’ most enjoyable time.

tions recently by supplying Linda
Davies with fifty yards of pink and
white nylon, which she will take
with her to Australia for hostess
presents when she starts her for-

Linda cut up the lovely material
into suitable sized lengths, packag-
ing each gift neatly.
Linda will take also, with her, a
sound film from Wilkes-Barre
Chamber of Commerce, obtained
for her through Walter Mohr. It

ley and. its imdustries, but views of
the Back Mountain and its leading
industry, Natona Mills.
James Roberts, USN,
With The 6th Fleet
James F. Roberts Jr., seaman,
USN, son of Dr. James F. Roberts,
Sweet Valley R. D. 1, is serving
aboard the nuclear-powered attack
aircraft carrier USS ENTERPRISE,
currently operating with the Sixth
Fleet in the Mediterranean and
slated to retum to the U.S. late this
summer.
The ENTERPRISE has been with
the Sixth Fleet since February.
Recent ports of call for the carrier
include Genoa, Italy, and Rhodes,
Greece.
The ENTERPRISE, an Atlantic
Fleet unit, normally operates out of
Norfolk, Va.

A short but vicious hailstorm
visited Sweet Valley Friday eve-
ning, covering the ground with a
thin layer of what appeared to be
mothballs, stripping leaves from
the trees, and gouging huge chunks,
from Andy Adams’ green tomato
crop.

Westmoreland 1954
Plans 10th Reunion
Plans for a tenth reunion will be
discussed during a meeting of the
Westmoreland High School Class of
1954 on August 15th at 8 p.m. at
the ‘American Legion Home, in Dal-
las.
All members are urged to attend.
Anyone having addresses of out-
of-town classmates are asked to
bring them. ,

Lake-Lehman Band
To Start Practice
Mr. John Miliauskas, Lake Leh-
man Band Director would like all
band members to bring im their
new ' Uniforms for a fitting and
also have their Old Uniforms
cleaned and both brought to the
school Monday Aug. 12th at band’
practice,
Mr. Miliauskas also states the
band will start full rehearsal this
month for the {football season.

member,
The Lake Lehman Band picnic
was held July 30, at Rummages
Grove Hunlock Creek. The band
members enjoyed Swimming, Bowl-
ing, and Roller-Skating. :
Supper was served at 6 p.m.
with 125 attending.

due Tuesday at 9 in the Health
