Bill Models Dresses

day to model the dresses he bought
at the Library Auction, pink and

but by remote control. The only
grandchild who wasn’t modelling a
dress was Bill III, who was all boy
in a sweat shirt.
For Kristie, 3, the blue silk pop-
lin had had to be shortened, but
for Susan, 8, and Wendi, 6, the as-
sortment was wide enough to give
each child a good fit. Bill, Auction
fans will remember, sat there in
the front row, bidding in children’s
dresses, and a large grey plush ele-
phant, happy as a clam as the tide
rose on his lap.
Bill Jr. and his wife Joan, drove
in from Minneapolis, arriving Sun-
day morning after a thirty-hour
nomstop trek cross country. Kids
slept in the station wagon, Pop and
Mom traded off in the driver’s seat.
Next week, the junior Mosses go on
to Montclair to visit Joan’s parents.
