Feted At Bon Voyage
The Charles E. James Memorial
Assembly of the Order of the Rain-
bow for Girls had a “Bon Voyage
Party and Picnic” ‘at the home of
Miss Barbara Rood at Harveys Lake,
Saturday, July 20, honoring Penny
Farrar and Gail Rumbaugh, Rotary
Exchange students who will spend
this coming school year in Nor-
way.
After swimming and a covered
dish supper Penny and Gail were
the recipients of many useful gifts
among which the only duplicates
were boxes of stationery.
Ryman Reunion
Annual Ryman Reunion will be
held at Ted Wilson's Picnic Grove,
Saturday, August 17, when Peter
Ryman’s descendants will return to
the haunts of the pioneers who set-
tled Dallas in the late 1700's.
Wilson Ryman, president, invites
the clan and friends to enjoy lunch
at 12:30 when caterers will be ready
to serve.
Reservations should be made with
the secretary, Mrs. William Arch
Austin before August 15.
Free Methodists In
Trucksville Hopeful
Trucksville Free Methodists, if all
goes well, are looking forward to
realization of a dream. This week,
it is confidently expected that a con-
struction contract for the new church
on Carverton Road will be signed,
and that next week work will start.
The contract calls for completion
within 120 working days, which
should see the ediface under roof
before bad weather sets in, with in-
terior work going forward in spite
of November and December storms.

A “Welcome to Pennsylvania”
garden party in honor of Mr. and
Mrs, John Roehm was held recently
at the home of their daughter and
son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Lynch, Oak-Hill. Mr. and Mrs.
Roehm are making their home at
27 W. Fallbrook Avenue, Dallas hav-
ing moved from Long Island on
July 24th. Mr. Roehm retired in
June from the New York Bell Tele-
phone Co.

Gary Anderson, son of Mr. and

Lake, was guest of honor at a fare-
well family picnic held at his home
last week.
Gary left yesterday for service
with the U. S. Army.

Linda Lloyd, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. G. Harold Lloyd, Shickshinny,
was hostess: to members of the
United Cerebral Palsy Group at an
outing held July 24 at her home.
Mrs. Harold Lamoreaux, Dallas,
assisted at the affair given by her
mother and sister. Guests included
those from a wide area.

Have Final Meeting
Atty. Robert Fleming, chairman
of 17th Annual Back Mountain Li-
brary Auction, in announcing the
final meeting for committee chair-
men, for Monday, August 5, in the
Library Annex, asks all chairmen
to prepare written reports, under-
scoring the word brief.
Business meeting will start
promptly at 8, end at 9:30, when
refreshments will be served, and a
period put to this year's Auction.

birthday anniversary on Tuesday.

patient in General Hospital for a
week, undergoing a series of tests.
Garden, Trucksville, returned home
last week after undergoing an emer-
gency appendectomy at Nesbitt Hos-
pital. He is an 8th grade student at
Dallas Junior High School.
Vernon Friendship Class held a
picnic at Melody Park last Thursday
with a large number in attendance.

U.S. Air Force have been spending
two months at the home of the lat-
ter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Faux, Vernon, accompanied by their
children, Donald, David, Stephen and
Donna Darlene.
The Ayre’s left Sunday for In-
diana State College, where the lieu-
tenant will study prior to teaching
indoctrination classes at Notre
Dame. Mrs. Ayre is the former Ethel
Faux, Vernon.
Mrs. Edward Brooks and sons,
Rendie and Russie, Highland, Cal-
ifornia, are: visiting Mrs. Emma
Baird, Shavertown, R.D. 5; Mr. and
Mrs. Ray Price, ‘Shavertown and Mr.
