Opens Office
New Quarters In
~ Trucksville Ready
Dr. David Kunkle opened his new
office* im Trucksville last week, at
68 Carverton Road, where he has
purchased a home with offices on
the ground floor and a laboratory
in the basement. ;
Dr. Kunkle, one of the most
promising young medical men in
the Navy, was obliged to abandon
that career five years ago when he
escaped death by a miracle in" a
car crack-up at Patuxent Naval
Base, and spent several years inch-
ing his way back to health.
He was all set to sail for Lebanon,
chief dental officer on the ship,
when a three-day siege of strep
sore throat flattened him and caused
him fo black out when starting
from the naval base for a flying
trip home to Dallas with his sur-
plus dunnage. His car struck a
tree, resulting in almost fatal head
injuries.
For months he was hospitalized
at Bethesda, not expected to sur-
vive, and for a year at Veterans
Hospital, still groping his way out
of the fog.
Working back into his profession,
for a time he was with Dr. Body-
comb for a few hours every day,
then with Dr. Carlton Davies, whom
he left at the end of June.
Now, health completely restored,
he is building a home-town practice
in Trucksville. Living in the same
house with him are his father and
mother, Mr. and Mrs. Wardan
Kunkle, formerly of Lehman Ave-
nue, Dallas.

tory problems and methods of
solving them. The manual—cover-
ing more than 800 problems — fills
the meeds of high school and fresh-
man college courses. A section on
nuclear chemistry is included.
Among Sulcoski’s previous pub-
lications are “Experiments in Chem-
istry”,” published by Burgess in

For Shel Evans
A laurel wreath to Shel Evans for
one of the most intriguing features
of the Auction, the pony rides. Stag-
ed safely out of traffic, the rides

of ‘the Library.
Something new was added to the
pony rides this year, a pony and
cart which held three children, and
operated on Lehman Avenue, closed
to regular traffic.
Handling the ponies were four
boys from Loyalville: Larry and
Shel and his co-chairman Jim
