Police Docket (Continued from Page 1-A) cide what is news and what is not?” Hauck remarked, “You are a public servant. The docket must remain open to the public.” Supervisor Smith stated (to Zieg- ler), “You have covered up infor- mation since you came on the Board.” ‘This is absolutely untrue,” replied the chairman of the board. Updyke again asked, “All T want to know is whether I have the right to give out news or not and may I use my discretion ?”. Hauck and Smith approved an open record for the public, Ziegler finally as-| senting. With the tax collector report completed, H. A. Berkheimer Asso- ciates of Bangor, was appointed de- linquent tax collector. Mr. Gilroy, Mr. Gelb and Mr. Phillips, representing Carverton Heights homeowners . submitted a map of the development as re- quested at an earlier meeting and reiterated their plea for plowing and tarring of their street. Supervisor Hauck, remarked, “By doing this we would be helping to develop the section and add more worth to your investment.” Ziegler agreed, ‘that paved roads contribute to greater real estate value. We have subdivision zoning regula- tions.” Mr. Gelb replied, “I don’t believe we are asking too much for you to take over our road and plow it. We can’t hold the developer re- sponsible.” Hauck said, “If Novak is paying acreage it is not sub- divided. There are many others in the township who have lived on ‘unpaved roads for a number of years. Do you think it is fair to them to pave your road first? I would like to have the court hand down a decision on the matter.” This was not desirable to com- plainants and Ziegler asked if they would be willing to pay half the costs if township put a lien on the lots. They responded that this sug- gestion was more favorable. No final decision was made regarding the situation. Supervisors received permission to occupy the township building until ‘May 1, 1964 from H. J. Wil- liams Company. .
