Traffic throughout the township
has increased due to the comstruc-
tion work on the Luzerne-Harvey's
Lake Highway, and still there is no
visible evidence of any work being
dome by the Pa. Department of
Highways on highways running
through the township. It was re-
ported that the previous adminis-
tration had used all the appropria-
tions for road repair work and that
‘the mew administration is forced to
postpone work until the fiscal year
starts July 1. We should be
noticing: some activity in the near
future.

won over the Kingston Knights of
Columbus team Sunday by a score
of 6 to 2, but fell victim to the

to 3. Evidently the weather was
too warm for our local boys.
Chester Rusiloski, their genial man-
ager, is trying to arrange a game
with a group of colored boys from
the Playground Association for the
near future, possibly on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Rice had
the following guests at a cook-out
at their home on Chase Road Sun-
day, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Debra
and Lucille of Florida, Mr. and
Mrs. Chester Rugiloski and chil-
dren, , Chester, Jr. and Ruth Ann,
and Fulton Rice.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
Leo (Pete) Yascur, who celebrated
their fifteenth wedding anniversary
June 26. The Yascurs have four
children, James 12, Bonnie 10,
Cindy 4 and Brenda 2.

eral Hospital. She will be there a
few weeks.
Harold Maye attended banking
school for two weeks training ‘at
Rutgers University. He is taking a
course on ‘Trust Fund”,
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nuss and
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ide are on a
camping trip to Mt. Tremblant
Camp, Quebec, Canada. The Nusses
are celebrating their 35th wedding
anniversary. They will be gone
until after July 4th. We hope they
have good camping weather.
The Horse Show is really shaping
up fine. Firemen and the Auxiliary
have gone to a considerable ex-
pense to make everybody more
comfortable, had a kitchem built so
they could serve better food and
give better service, Come out folks,
and bring your company with you.
It will be lot more safer there than
‘traveling.

Harris will spend the summer at
Red Rock Camp. [Carol is Mr. and
Mrs. Chester Lamoreaux daughter.

Morton Connelly. Mrs. Faix and

Chick Spencer, son of Mrs. Ann
Spencer, observed his fourteenth
birthday, June 26, as guest of his
uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. An-
thony Skipalis, Nanticoke, with a
trip to Baltimore where they toured
the U.S.S. Constitution. Mrs. Spen-
cer ‘entertained at a family dinner
honoring Chick on Sunday. Also
attending were the honoree’s gisters
Karen Lee and Trudie, his brother,
Scott.

13. For an evening of enjoyment,

half inch trout, proving age and ex-

the Youth for Christ Convention,
held at Ocean City, with over one
thousand young people attemding.
Wilma’s sister, Gloria had to cancel
her plans to attend, being confined
to her home with virus.

turned home after being guest of
Elwook Matthews, Wilkes-Barre.

Registration at Dallas Junior High
School is scheduled for July 10, and
at Dallas Senior High School July
11, for all students who have not
attended Dallas schools.
Sixth grade students coming up
through the grades, do not need to
register, as transfer is automatic.
Families who have moved to the
community, or families whose child-
ren have been educated in amy
school other than the Dallas schools,
must register their children for ad-
mission to either Junior or Senior
High School.
Hours are 8 to 12, and 1 to 3, om
both days.
