No mention of Brenda in recent
columns has brought many in-
quiries as to whether she is still
with us. The little lady is very
much alive and well and enjoying
the warm days when she can be
outside. Monkeys have a way of
growing on one, and it is remark-
able how different her nature is
from that of Chi-Chi, who has also
become my friend. Compared to
the latter's antics, one might label
Brenda a stoic, but always good
for a laugh.

Mt. Zion
Well, the Emanuel house down
the road from us has come to life.
A new family stayed in it the first
time Wednesday night. Marian Pol-
onius and her mother and three
young children. I've seen two of the
children on bicycles. She reported
to Jean Emanuel that it was “cool
last night” up here.
Speaking of the Emanuels--young
David had a birthday party on June
13 to celebrate being eight years
old. Besides little ' brother Jeffery
there were guests as follows: Rickie
King, Mark VenTuyle, Mike Hronich,
Terry Dymond, Warren Stahl and
Dennis Bohan,
Leon Emanuel took the Mt. Zion
Emanuels down to Chester where
they were joined by father and mot-
her Emanuel (Dave antl Celia) and
the family went on to Ocean City |
for the weekend.
Last week Wednesday night I at-
tended the farewell party in honor
of Rabbi and Mrs. Gabriel Maza, re-
cently the spiritual leader of Temple
Agudath Achim an Broad street
Pittzton. It was a heart occasion.
Ags I mingled among the members of
that congregation I heard many fer-
vent expressions of regret at the
rabbi’s leaving. Many spoke of how
universally well-liked this gifted
counle had been, and wished him
well on his transfer to a larger end
more challenging field in New York.
We were delighted and honored last
Monday when Rabbi Maza drove up
to our Mt. Zion home to be sure to
visit us before he left Pittston. He
and his people were always good
friends of the Pittston Methodists.
And with everybody in Pittston for
that matter.
