Lehman
Children of the Lehman Elemen-
tary School were entertained
Wednesday, June 12th, by the L-L-
P.T.A., hopefully an annual event.
The Game Commission showed a
movie, and bag lunches were served
by the cafeteria. Room mothers as-
sisted teachers with games. Mrs.
Thomas Brown and Mrs. Gordon
Dawe served as chairman.
Burton Major has left for
Gloucester, Va. where he will spend
the summer with his sister, Mrs. H.
G. Bland.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Barrall and
family were pleasantly surprised
Monday evening last week when
Rev. and Mrs. Herbert M. Barrall of
St. John’s Cathedral, Denver, Colo-
rado, stopped to pay them a visit.
The Rector and his wife had flown
in to Middletown, New York to at-
tend the Diamond Jubilee of Grace
Episcopal Church of which he was
a former paster:
Mrs, Stella Schuler is making her
home with Mr. and Mrs. Morton
Connelly. She has been a patient
at the Maple Hill Rest Home. Stella
is convalescing from a brokem hip.
Her husband Lou Schuler passed
away four years ago. They lived in
Trucksville for years.

entertained at the home of Mr. amd
Mrs, Earl Chamberlin, eighteen
present. Mrs. Ruth Wright pre-
sided, Mrs. Margaret Barrall gave
Secretary’s report, Mrs. Mabel Ma-
jor gave the Treasurer's report.
Mrs. William Drabick, our teach-
er, gave some beautiful shells from
Florida to all the members.
Leighton Scott, 85 Huntsville
Road, was recently emtertained by
Mr. and IMrs. Leonard Selingo,
Huntsville, at a picnic supper.
Mr. and Mrs. Willard Gary and
daughter
into their new home.
Committee of the Fire Auxiliary,
has a beautification project, recent-
ly painting the flag-pole and
planting flowers in the center of
Lehmein, where they also pay for
the lighting. Slow up when going
through Lehman, and see how
pretty it is. :
Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Marks and
family just returned from Pitts-
| burgh from the wedding of Miss
Susan Wefind, Mrs. Marks’ cousin.
Mrs. John Berch, Leslie Ann and
Billy, Abington, Va., were guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nuss. Also
Mrs. Cecilia Walker of Kingston.
The Nusses had their two grand-
children = while Charles and Lois
visited the seashore at Rehoboth
Beach and Ron at Washington, D.C.

For John Rifenberys
Mr. and Mrs. John Rifenbery
Beaumont, celebrated their golden
wedding anniversary Sunday, June
2nd with an open house given by
their four children at the home of
their son, Merton, of Beaumont.
Mr. and Mrs. Rifenbery lived in
Luzerne and Shavertown following
their marriage. Forty-two years
ago, they purchased a farm in Beau-
mont where they have since re-
sided.
They have one daughter Mrs.
Margaret Clark of Beaumont and
three sons, Asa, Phoenix, N. Y.;
William = and Merton, Beaumont.
There are sixteen grandchildren
and eight great-grandchildren,
Friends and relatives attending
were: Mr. and Mrs. Tedd Stone,
Gregg and Mark, Baldwinsville,
N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Cappucci,
children, Vicki, Cindy, Timmy and

Navy Man Has Leave

Arabia, recently was granted a |
few days leave, Taking advantage of |
the leave, Joe was able to tour |
Rome, Naples, Isle of Cyprus and |
Cairo, Egypt. The day he visited |
Rome, the Pope's funeral was being
held, Joe reports, and streets were
jammed with multitudes of mourn-
ers, making it impossible to pene-
trate the crowd.
