by Back Mountain Y.M.C.A. is Fri-
day. Parents of boys and girls be-
tween the ages of 7 and 14 are re- |
minded that application must be
made with Cliff King at the Back
Mountain ‘Y’ by tomorrow.
Buses will transport the young-
sters to the Wilkes-Barre Y.M.C.A.
where they will be given instruc-
tion Monday
ginning June 17. The group will be
divided into two sections with one
group receiving instruction at 3:30
p.m. and the next group at 4:00
Buses will leave the Back Mountain
Y’ at 3:00 p.m. daily. Other de-
tails may be obtained at the Back
Mountain ‘Y’, a member agency of
the United Fund.

| at the Sandy Beach Drive-In. The
band marched from the Lake Ele-
mentary school to the drive-in and
then played various selections from
the spring concert for the large
group of spectators who gathered. '
Proceeds from this event will be
used for trips taken by the band |
during the coming school year.
Annual band-athletic banquet
was held in ‘the cafeteria on
Wednesday, June 5. Robert O'Dell,
head football coach of Bucknell, was
the main speaker. Senior members
of G.A.A. and the Lettermen’s Club
were presented with blazers.

row, Teacher's Day. F.T.A. members
The Senior issue of the “Crusad-
er” ‘was distributed to the student
{ body on Friday. Included were class
| history, activities of ‘the Class of
“63”, and general information about
each member. Editor Marily Wood-
ling was assisted by a staff of nine
Juniors and Seniors.
Work is progressing on the
‘“Knight’s Code”, the student hand-
book, for 1963-64. Susan Fielding
is editor, assisted by Sandy Steele.
Monday will be the last day of
school for us.
Final examinations in major sub-
jects were administered Tuesday
and Wednesday. Language exams
were administered on Tuesday ‘and
math, history, and science exams
were given on Wednesday.
On Saturday, May 25, a group of
Sophomore and Junior girls attend-
ed a tea and open house at Nesbitt
| Hospital.
Since school will close for
summer on Monday, this will be my
last column ‘for this school year.
