Gains Swift Art
A former Dallas resident is gain-
ing recognition in the Philadelphia
area as an outstanding artist, and
has recently sold several of her
paintings in Wyoming Valley.
Dorothy Mack Crosby, wife of
Richard S. Crosby, 340 Oakwood
Lane, Devon, Pa., stopped in at the
Post recently to show some of her
lovely pastels of floral arrange-
ments.
Daughter of Mrs. Fred J. Mack
and the late Mr. Mack, Dallas, Mrs.
Crosby majored in art at Beaver
College, her alma mater, and. did
further study under Roy Nuse, in-
structor at the College of Fine Arts,
Philadelphia. 3
Her return to serious art work,
following the illness of her husband
last year, found her exhibiting the
remarkable talent which previously
had won the plaudits of her teachers
and friends.
Dorothy Mack Crosby, Devon
Recognition
The Crosbys go into the local mar-
kets for their fresh and colorful
flower models early in the morning,
when the fragrant and assorted
blooms can be captured in their full
beatuty.
Mrs. Crosby prefers still life and
pastels, also doing some work in oils.
She has exhibited at St. Alban’s
Church, Newton Square, and has
no difficulty in finding eager bidders
for her excellently executed offer-
ings.
She and her husband finish their
own frames, preferring to blend
them to produce a finished master-
piece.
The Dallas Post personnel were
enthusiastic upon viewing her real-
istic. and’ lovely reproductions.
Mr. Crosby is the son of the late
W. Fassett Crosby, one time busi-
