Mariellen Daw, daughter of Dr. and
Mrs. William J. Daw, Harveys Lake,
became the bride of John Sidney
Fine, Jr., son of tiie former Gover-
nor John S. Fine, Loyalville and the
late Mrs. Helene Morgan Fine on
Saturday, May 4 in Shavertown

The bride who was given in mar-
riage by her father wore an original
gown of candlelight ivory imported
organza lined with peau de soie
and fashioned with a batteau neck-
line, bolero topped bodice, elbow
shy’ sleeves and a bell skirt with
side monk * pleats and aisle width
train.
Her mantilla was of imported
Brussel's lace. She carried a cas-
cade bouquet of tiny white rose-
buds and gardenias.
Mrs, ‘Thomas Heffernan, Jr., was
her sister's matron of honor. She
was attired in a camellia pink ori-
ental sheer waltz length gown over
matching taffeta, styled with an open
portrait neckline, fitted bodice, el-
bow shy sleeves and a semi bouf-
fant skirt. 2

Mrs. Grace Whitesell, Lehman,
celebrated her 85th birthday an-
I niversary on Saturday, June 1, when
She wore a matching circular veil
quet of pink rosebuds.
Reception for the immediate fam-
ilies was held at the Daw residence,
after which the couple left on a
brief honeymoon.
The bride was graduated from
Wyoming Seminary and is a senior
at Wilkes College. She is a mem-
ber of the D.A.R., Huguenot Society
of Pennsylvania and is a provisional
member of the Wilkes- Barre Junior
League.
The bridegroom is a graduate ot]

The couple are residing on Ter-

Woman's Club Sets
Up Student Loans
The Scholarship Loan Fund Com-
mittee of Dallas Senior Woman's
Club will meet shortly to consider
applications made by boys and girls
of the Dallas School District. Stu-
dents hoping for a loan from the
Fund should make inquiry of the
Assistant Principal or Guidance
Counselor at the High School. Clos-
ing date for receipt of application
has been set for July 1.
Purpose of the Fund is to assist
students who may need a small loan.
Eligible is any needy student who |
is a graduate of the Dallas Senior
High School or a child of a member
of the Dallas Senior Woman's Club,
graduating from another school and
who has been accepted for advanced
study.

The Fund is designed to receive
‘| public contributions as memorials
or other outright donations, pat-
terned after many similar programs.
In taking the initiative in develop-
ing the local project, the Woman’s
Club hopes for support of Back
Mountain residents.
A donor of $10.00 to the Fund
will become an associate member of
the Fund committee. An individ-
ual, donating at least $100.00 will
become a member of the Century
Club and charter member if such
donation is made before January
1, 1965. A Memorial Roster is also
being established to carry the names
of any individuals who may be-
queth a sum of money to the
Fund or in whose names an amount
may be contributed in remem-
brance.
Movie Night On Friday
For Lake-Lehman Bands
Lake Lehman Band will perform
in their new uniforms at the annual
movie night, sponsored by the group
on Friday evening, June 7, at Sandy
Beach Drive In.
Parade will get under way at 7:30
p.m., beginning at Lake School and
marching down to the out-door
movie premises, where the band
will perform in their pré-Concert
show, under the direction of John
Miliauskas.

Jane DelKanic was winner of the
annual award offered by Tau Chap-
ter of Delta Kappa Gamma, present-
ed Friday evening at Lake-Lehman
Class-Night exercises, for outstand-
ing scholastic achievement and
generosity in her services to school
and community.
Jane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Michael DelKanic, Loyalville, has
been on the Honor Roll all through
high school; is a member of Na-
tional Honor Society and FTA; busi-
ness manager for the Year Book;
publicity agent for the Band; stu-
dent director for the Senior Play;
member of the Journalism Club; on
the newspaper and magazine staff;
representative for the Dallas Post;
a member of the Band, the Reed
Choir, Girls Ensemble, Senior
Chorus; and director of the choir
at Loyalville Methodist Church. She
was selected Girl of the Month.
She expects to enter Bloomsburg
