nia, locating in Lower Burrell, Pa.
Mrs. Marie Varner, Easton, and
Mrs. Milton Lutsey and daughter

end with Mrs. William Morris.
T. M. B. Hicks has pssed the post-
operative crisis at Geisinger Hos-
pital and is experiencing a spectac-
ular improvement in physical con-
dition, a temporary . reprieve.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ellsworth,
Lekman, with sons Kenneth and
Howard, spent the weekend with
their daughter Louise in Pitcairn,
where she and her husband Walter
Gladowski have recently moved to
a new apartment. En route, they
saw Dr. and Mrs. Philip Jacobson
in Williamsport, and Mr. and Mrs.
G. A. Ellsworth at State University.
Leamon Mintzer, Alderson, has
returned to his home after being a
"patient at Robert Packer Hospital,
Sayre.
Mrs. Harry Cole, Jackson Street,
is a surgical patient in General
Hospital.
The Tag Family have moved from
Huntsville Road to Dayton, Ohio,
wh Mr. Tag is employed as a
computer salesman. The Tags lived
here three years and were members
of llas Methodist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Daley, Jr.,
have moved from Tunkhannock
Highway to Parrish Street, where
they purchased a home. There are
two sons, Michael, fifteen months
and David four months. Mrs. Daley
is the former Carol Layou, Tunk-
hannock. Mr. Daley is employed
with Daley’s Transfer. ;
Mr. and Mrs. Alyin Long and
Brent, Dallas, had as guests Satur-
day, Mrs. Leslie Shaw and Muriel,
Muhlenburg and Mr. and Mrs. Carl

Mrs. Clifford Foss is recovering
at home after undergoing recent
operation at Nesbitt Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Post, Cliff-
side, Trucksville, will leave next
week to visit their daughter and
son-in-law in Syracuse. While there
thef®expect to tour the Thousand
Island area.

Sherri. Other children are Janice,
five and a half, and Marjorie, four.

James Franklin Daubert
Mr. and Mrs. James Daubert,
Pittston, RD 1, announce the birth
of a six pound fourteen ounce son,
James Franklin, born April 21 at
Nesbitt Hospital. There is another
child, Linda, one. Mrs, Daubert is
the former Joy#Redmond, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Redmond,
Centermoreland. Mr. Daubert is
Parrish Street, Dallas. He is em-
ployed with Balester Optical Com-
pany, Wilkes-Barre.
Announce Birth
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Seruitsky,
Shavertown, RD 5, announce the
birth of a seven pound four ounce
son, Robert Lee, born April 22 at
Nesbitt Hospital. This is their first
child. Mrs. Scruitsky is the former
Mildred Katchmar, Chase. Mr.
Scruitsky is employed with Fried-
man’s Express.
Dawn Marie Llewellyn
A: six pound ten ounce daughter,
Dawn Marie, was born to Mr. and
Mrs. Guy Llewellyn, Jr., Pioneer
Avenue, Shavertown, April 16 at
Mercy Hospital. There is another
daughter, Renee, two. Mrs. Llewel-
lyn is the former Mary Carr, Kings-
ton. Mr. Llewellyn is president of
Llewellyn-McKane Printing Com-
pany, Wilkes-Barre.
Announce Birth
Mr. and Mrs. Patrick McGough,
Dallas, RD 2, announce the birth
of a six pound 12 ounce son, Keven
John, born April 21 at General Hos-
pital. There are three other chil-
dren, Jimmy, eight, Jayne Ann, five
and June Ellen, one. Mrs. McGough
is the former Audrey Jones, Wilkes-
Barre. Mr. McGough is employed as
an Interstate bus driver.

A six pound daughter, Karen was
born to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pu-
chalsky, Youngblood Street, Shaver-
town, April 16, at Nesbitt Hospital.
There are five boys, Thomas six,

and Brian, one. Mrs. Puchalsky
is the former Marie Shalata, Swoy.

Club welcomed four new members
Saturday morning at the meeting
in Lehman Fire Hall: Anne Davies,
Amy Robinson, Debbie Post and
Gladys Frantz.
Anne Davies was appointed head
of public relations, succeeding Linda
Tag who is moving from the area
to Dayton, Ohio. Leslie Vivian pre-
sided. '
The previous Saturday morning,
club members had returned from a
trip to Doylestown where they at-
tended a horse sale. During the
meeting a demonstration was given
of the quarter-horse by Valerie Tag.
Amy Robinson and Debbie Post sang
a duet.
Present other than those mention-
ed were Rickie Viviam, Tona Taylor,
Connie Bogdon, Michelle Klem, Resia
and Timothy ‘Carroll, Susan Martz,
Linda Mekeel, and Mrs. Bogdon.

Paul Meade On April 20
Paul Meade and Marsha Cragle
were married April 20 in the new
Emmanuel Assemblly of God par-
sonage, Harveys Lake. Rev. George
Clement performed the ceremony.
After the wedding, the couple
left for their mew apartment in
Parsons.
Present at the ceremony were
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Meade, grand-
mother, Mrs. Corey Meade, Mr. and
Mrs. Rengal Cragle, and the bride's
grandmother, Mrs. Mae Williams,
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford VanBuskirk,
sister and brother-in-law of the
bride and their two small children.
Wayne Weavers Are
Married Three Years
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Weaver,

their third wedding anniversary,
April 28th. ~ Mrs. Weaver is the
former Hazel Smith, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smith, Center-
moreland. Mr. Weaver is son of
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Weaver, Sr.,
Orange-Tunkhannock. The couple
have one child, Duane. Mr. Weaver
operates a farm. A dinner was held
at the home of Mrs. Weaver's par-
ents, her brother, Frank Smith, Jr.,
Washington, D.C. was home to help
celebrate.
John Kupstas Visits
The Bavarian Alps
Johnnie Kupstas, who once turn-
ed hot news into cold type at the
console of the Intertype machine at
the Dallas Post, still hag ambitions
to be a newspaper man. Stationed
with the Air Force at Rheinstein,
Germany, he is taking two courses
in the University of Maryland ex-
tension school, one in English, one
in journalism.
He reports in a recent letter to
his mother, Mrs. John P, Kupstas
of Huntsville, that he has taken
a three day trip to Austria, where
he found the Bavarian Alps out.

Thirteen Key-Clubbers
Back From Harrisburg
Thirteen Key Club Members re-
turned Sunday afternoon from the
District Key Club Convention, at
Harrisburg, proud of their two
plaques and second place award.
Though they did not place in the
Essay Contest nor the Scrapbook
judging, they received a Certificate
of Merit awarded clubs for sending
their monthly reports promptly and
complete; a Special Award for send-
ing the Drill Team to Denver; and
second place Achievement Award
for their services and projects com-
pleted.

Two Sisters and Husbands
Celebrate Their Anniversaries
On Saturday April 27, two sisters
and their husbands were honored
at a surprise party in observance of
their wedding anniversaries. Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Burkhardt, Pikes
Creek were married forty one years
ago April 26. The latter's brother-
in-law and = sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Jolin Gelsleichter, Mooretown ob-
served their thirty-fifth anniversary
April 25.
A buffet supper was served, with
a large anniversary cake as the
centerpiece. The group, enjoyed
singing and playing musical instru-
ments. The Burkhardt’s son Clif-
ford made tape recordings during
the evening. On hand to help make
the affair a memorable one were

Irem Golfers
First event of the seasom of Irem
Women Golfers’ Association was
held on Friday at the Irem Temple
Country Club. Twenty-five mem-
bers participated in the four club
event including the putter.
First place was won by Mrs. Har-
old Smowdon, Sr. Second and third
places, by Mrs. John Vivian and
Mrs. Charles Phillips respectively.
The putting prize was won by
Mrs. Frank Jones.
Mrs. William Wicks, golf chair-
man, announced that mext Friday's

Mrs. Clint Cobleigh, East Dallas,
entertained her card club, Tuesday

Two Dallas Teachers
Awarded Fellowships
Two high school teachers from
Dallas have beem awarded special
fellowships in the Summer Institute
for High School Science Teachers at
Bucknell University June 24 to Au-
gust 2.
They are James K. Aikens, Elm-
crest Drive, who teaches at Meyers
High School and Fred M. Templin,
Woodlawn Avenue, who teaches at
| Forty Fort High School.
Designed to meet the needs of
teachers in service and to strength-
en science teaching in the public
schools, the Institute, under a grant
from ‘the National Science Founda-
tion, is offering courses in biology,
chemistry, mathematics, and phys-|
ics to a limited number of qualified
men and women.

High School Class, 1953
Plans Reunion In June
The 10th reunion planning com-
mittee of Westmoreland High
School, Class of 1953 met, recently
to finalize plans for the reunion to
be held Saturday, June 22, at the
Mayfair Supper Club. Programs,
feature, prizes, dancing. A floor
show will be included in the eve-
ning.
Invitations and reservation cards
have been mailed to all class mem-
bers and the committee urges all
members to return their reserva-
tions by May 31. :
This will be the second reunion
for the members of the class.
