Alired B. Cease Was
Native Of Ceastown
Alfred B.Cease, 81, native of Ceas-
towin and son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. H. C. Cease, was buried at
Bloomingdale Monday afternoon,
Rev. William Price conducting ser-
vices from the Bronson Funeral
Home.
He died Friday at Sacred Heart
Hospital in Allentown. He had made
his home with his son J. Donald
Cease in Allentown for the past fif-
teen years, ¢’iice retiring from the
contract’ng business in Nanticoke,
where he lived for many years.
Masonic services were conducted
Sunday evening by Nanticoke Lodge
541 from which he had received his
fifty-year pin five years ago.
He is survived by his son Donald;
a daughter, Mrs. Henry Frederick,
also of Allentown; a sister, Mrs.
Joseph T. Norman, Huntington Mills;
two, grandchildren and one great
grandchild. His wife, the former
Ethel Carkeek, died twenty years
ago.

For William Schroer
Committal services at Memorial
Shrine for William Schroer were
conducted Monday afternoon for a
former resident of Wyoming RD 3,
Rev. William Reid officiating. Mrs.
August Schultz, Wyoming RD 3, is
the only close local survivor, two
other sisters living in Germany.
Mr. Schroer, a native of Germany,
had not lived in this area for a num-
ber of years. He died Friday at his
home in Elmira.

Mrs. Bessie C. Shaw, 90, Town
Line, died early Monday morning
at Nanticoke State Hospital where
she had been admitted to the sur-

Elect Officers
Charles E. James Memorial As-
sembly of the Order of the Rain-
bow for Girls will meet at the Edu-

Episcopals To Attend
Annual Conventicn
Episcopal Diocese of Bethlehem
will stage its 92d annual cciaven-
| tion Friday and Saturday at the
Cathedral Church of the Nativity
in Bethlehem, with over 400 clergy
and laymen in attendance. The Rt.
Rev. Frederick J. Warnecke will
preside. Speaker at Friday night's
banquet will be Rt. Rev. David E.
Richards, Bishop of the Missionary
District of South America.
Attending from this area will be
Rev. John S. Prater, Charles Nod-
‘der, Floyd Sanders, Jack Stanley,
and Robert Maturi.
Dies En Route From
Mother's Funeral
Stricken Saturday night with a

funeral, Mrs. Mabel C. Tosh, Tunk-
hannock Highway, was pronounced
dead by the family physician, Dr.
H. G. Gallagher. ;
Mrs. Tosh, 51, had attemded ser-
vices for her mother, Mrs. Augusta
Ehret of Lee Park, and at 8:40 was
coming back from a meeting of the
family when the heart seizure oc-
curred not more than a mile from
her home. Her husband, William,
rushed her immediately to Dr. Gal-
lagher. Deputy Coroner Richard
Disque was summoned.
She was buried at Oak Lawn
Wednesday afternoon, following ser-
vices conducted by Rev. Duane
Collins, pastor of Grant Street
Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Tosh, resident of Dallas since
1952, retained membership in Doug-
lass Presbyterian Church. A native
of Wilkes-Barre, and educated at
Coughlin High School, she was em-
ployed for a time by Common
wealth Telephone Company for a
number of years as an operator.
She is survived by her husband;
a brother Harold Ehret, Lee Park;
nieces and nephews.
