For fifty years she had been a
member of Trucksville Methodist
Church and active in its organiza-
tions, the WSCS, the Reynolds Class,
and the Service Mothers Club.
in Trucksville.
A few months ago, Mrs. Woolbert,
in need of nursing care, went to
Philadelphia to live with her son
Willard.
The sister with whom she was
the most intimate, Mrs. Charles
Reese, for many years lived within
a stone's throw of Mrs. Woolbert.
Surviving are three sons: Nelson
and Kenneth, Trucksville, Willard,
Philadelphia; four grandchildren.
She was buried at ‘Cedar Crest
yesterday afternoon, following serv-
ices conducted by Rev. Robert Ger-

An innovation this year is the
Flea Market downstairs.
Dealers are bringing many pieces
for refinishing or decorating, wash
stands, tables, Hitchcock, half-
back and arrow back chairs and a
collection of tinware. Mrs. H. Rob.
ert Weaver and Mrs. Henry F. Dor-
an are in charge.
Young people of the EYC have
also volunteered to serve the din-
ners, scheduled on both nights 5

Victim Of Traffic
Crash Laid To Rest
Wesley E. Myers, the young man
whose tragic death was featured on
the front page last week, was
buried in Orcutt Cemetery on
Saturday, following services from a
Forty-Fort funeral home conducted
by Rev. Robert DeWitt.
Pallbearers were Phillip, Glen,
Robert and Sterling Myers, cousins
of the deceased; Howard Smith and

Inquiry into circumstances sur-
rounding the death of the twenty-
six year old Idetown man, lead to
the conclusion that remedies taken
for a heavy cold and sore throat
may have resulted in drowsiness,
as marks of the impact of his car
with the concrete bridge near the
Trucksville blinker light late Tues-
day night did not indicate excessive
speed.

At the stated meeting of the Lack-
awanina Presbytery on April 27th,
Lester Hauck was elected to repre-
sent this Presbytery at Synod, on
June 11th to 13th, at Westminster
College, New Wilmington, Pa. Rev.
Andrew Pillarella, was elected as
the minister to represent this Pres-
bytery at the same time.
Mrs. Thomas Bobo, president of
the Women’s Association of Trinity
United Presbyterian Church, was
elected secretary of the Ecumenical
Mission and Relations committee of
Lackawanna Presbyterial. She has
also beer elected to attend Synodi-
cal (the State level Women’s Asso
clation) as a delegate from Lacka-
wanna Presbyterial, College.

Mrs. Doris Straley Dies
Following Heart Attack
The sudden death of Mrs. Doris
Straley, 60, Noxen, Wednesday
morning, came as a shock to her
neighbors and friends.
In apparent good health, Mrs.
Straley had worked Tuesday at
Noxen Manufacturing Company. She
complained of not feeling well upon
her return home and sought the
advice of her physician. A fatal
heart attack followed during the
early morning hours.
Born at Rickett’s, she was the
former Doris Schock, daughter of
the late Emory and Gertrude Beahm
Schock, and had resided in Noxen
all her life.
She and her husband had operat-
ed the Noxen Theatre before the
advent of television.
Civic minded and interested in
many organizations, Mrs. Straley
was a member of (St. Luke's Luther-
an Church, its ladies societies and
Sunday School.
She was also active in the Fire-
men’s Auxiliary and the Dallas
Chapter 396, Order of Eastern Star.
Her husband, Nathan, survives;
also a sister, Mrs. Clarence Turner,
Noxen, and two nieces, Mrs. Robert
Clark and Jamet Turner, the latter
a teacher in Lake-Lehman Schools.
Services were held Saturday aft-
ernoon. at: Nulton Funeral Home,
Beaumont, with Rev. Wesley Kimm
officiating. Interment was in Orcutt
Cemetery, Noxen. Bearers wer e:

George Montross, Guy Fritz, Lewis
May, Melvin Hopfer.
