Letters of students participating should include personal data, scholastic and occupational ex- perience, financial status, future ed- ucation goals, and special honors and achievements. Senior students were made aware of a $25 award to be presented by the Lehman Township Fire Depart- ment to the senior presenting the best letter concerning “Support of Your Volunteer Fire Company.” Each senior must write such a letter to be submitted and studied. The outstanding letters will be given the Fire Department so that they might decide upon the final winner. The winning letter will be sent to citizens of the community. On Tuesday, April 16, fifty-one seniors from Lake-Lehman school took the P.S.E.S. aptitude test. The test was given at 9:20 in ‘the high school cafeteria. A program entitled “The Youngs’ Magician Show” was presented on Wednesday, April 17. The show was sponsored by the Student Council. Petitions for students planning to run for class officers for the 1963- 64 term were circulated last week. In order to qualify for a class office a student must have a “C” average, and have the signature of six stu- dents and three teachers. on his petition. Elections will be held in May. ; Prom Reservations were made every day last week in the Student Activity room. Richard M. Co- ken, information officer of Benton Air Force Station. Also announced is Armed Forces Day, May 18, when the public is | invited to an open house at Red Rock. Beginning at 9 a.m. guided tours of radar installations will be conducted. Senior members of the society il- lustrated the high standards of the Honor Society by giving a speech on each characteristic. Those par- ticipating were: Susan Fleming, Character; Marleen Futch, Scholar- ship; John Molski, Service; and Paul Haradem, Leadership. The Junior students were invested with ‘the National Honor -Society Pledge led by secretary, Charlotte Roberts. Students selected to the Society must attain a high scholas- tic average, having a fine character, show leadership and be of service to their school.
