Mr. and’ Mrs, David VanFossen,
Kingston, were recent guests of
Mr. and Mrs. William R. Hughes,
Chase Manor.
A cordial welcome is extended to
Mr. ‘and Mrs. Gerald Gabel who re-
cently moved into the Jeffery
Apartment on Chase Road, Chase
Manor. Gerald joined the Traffic
Department of the Commonwealth
Telephone Co. on April 1, as a Traf-
fic Engineer.
Mr. and Mrs. Jake Gabel an-
nounce the marriage of their grand-
sgn, Leon Gabel to Ann Borys of
lkes-Barre. It took place on
Saturday, April 20 at St. Ignatius
Church, Kingston. The reception
was held ‘at the Russian Hall in
Edwardsville. Leon is son of Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Gabel.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
William R. Hughes who celebrated
their wedding anniversary Sunday,
April 21. Mr. and Mrs. Hughes ac-
companied by their friends, Mr. and
Mrs. Paul Zweier and Mr. and Mrs.
Nelson Stauffer of Kingston called
on Rev. Robert T. Webster of the
Clarks Summit Methodist Church,
on January who took them on a
tour of the region up and around
Clarks Summit. One of the places
of interest was the largest pothole

hat. Prizes were awarded to Mrs.
Millie Yanchik for the prettiest
hat, Mrs. Mary Ashton for the most
original hat, and to Mrs. Mabel for
the funniest hat, was modeled by
Mrs. Bernadine Havrilla.
The Auxiliary will conduct a
Rummage Sale at the Fire Hall on
May 23-24-25. Contact any mem-
ber of the auxiliary if you have any
articles for ‘the sale, (or deliver
same to the Fire Hall by Thursday,
May 23.

Martha Fitzgerald, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fitzgerald, Hill
Street, is a patient in’ Pennsylvania
Graduate Hospital, Lumbar Street,
Philadelphia, where she was taken
on Sunday.
Mr. .and Mrs. Arthur Shelley and
son Gene, Poplar Street, visited Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Smith in Middleton,
N. Y. on Monday.
Mrs. Mary Rowe, Hemlock Street
is spending sometime visiting her
son and daughter-in-law, Mr, and
Mrs. Harold Rowe, in New Jersey.

Maplewood Heights had as Sunday
guests, Mr. and Mrs. Melvyn Comp-

W.S.C.S. of Alderson Methodist
Church was entertained at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Warren John-
son on Thursday evening. Mrs. Ted
Heness had the worship service, the
topic being, “Lord teach us to
pray”. Reports were given by of-
ficers. Our missionary sister, Har-
riet Wood, Asheville, N. C. was re-
membered at Easter time. A turkey
supper is being planned for the
middle of June. The Mother and
Daughter Tea will be held in three
weeks on May 9, 8 p.m. Mrs. Fred
Eister will ‘have the program,
showing slides of Puerto Rico.

Keller, Robert Krown, Garvin

Harold Blizzard and two friends
from North Carolina visited rela-
tives and friends here last week.
Harold is a nephew of Mrs. Howard
Higgins, and he visited her.

tact William J. Robbins, Trucksville,
who will remove the unwelcome
guests.
Bill says this is the time of year
when the insects suddenly descend
upon any spot which suits their
fancy.
Announce Birth
Mr, and Mrs. John Hoffman,
Shrine View, announce the birth of
an eight pound, two ounce daugh-
ter, Laura Christine, born April 12
at General Hospital. Laura Chris-
tine has twin brothers, Donald and
Robert, eleven. Mrs. Hoffman is
the former Lilly Madsen, Long
Island, N. Y. Mr. Hoffman is em-
ployed as a civil engineer.

with Mr. and Mrs.’ Albert Armitage.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kester,
former Harveys Lake residents,
now of Philadelphia, will celebrate
their 25th wedding anniversary on
April 27. They plan a cruise to
Bermuda.
