Eve Of Vernal Equinox
Winter weather backlashed into
the area on the eve of the first day
of spring, glazing highways and

Mrs. Mildred Daron
Dies On Way Home
Mrs. Mildred E. Daron, wife of
Hulme Daron, New Goss Manor,
died Tuesday morning in" a Los
Angeles hospital where she had
been admitted last Thursday, fol-
lowing the couple's return from a
two month vacation in Hawaii. Mrs.
Daron had not been well for some
years.
Funeral ‘arrangements await de-
cision of the family."
Hulme Daron is owner of the H.
S. Daron Inc. Building Materials
Company in Luzerne:
A native of Swoyerville, daughter
of the late Durland B. and Sarah
Annc Palmer Edwards, Mrs. Daron
was educated. in Swoyerville and
Luzerne schools and was a 1918
graduate of Bloemsburg Normal
School, now Bloomsburg State Col-
lege. She taught in Luzerne and
Swoyerville schools. Seven years
ago the couple moved from Luzerne
to Dallas.
Mrs. Daron retained membership
in the Bennett Presbyterian Church,
and belonged to the Winsome Guild.
Surviving in addition to her hus-
band are: a son Durland E. Daron,
Dallas; daughters: Mrs. Loren
Cragle, Jr., Sweet Valley; Mrs. John
Laughead, Gladwyn, Pa., and Roxy
Daron, San Antonia, Texas; a brother
Palmer Edwards, and a sister Mrs.
Roxy Newland, both of Swoyer-
ville; five grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is
survived by his wife, Virginia, and
two sons, Ross and Ralph.
A man highly respected by all
who served under his command his
loss was likewise felt deeply by his
superiors.

weinle, Medical Corps, at Red Rock
installation voice the sentiment of
all who knew him, ‘He was the
best commander I ever had. He was
a man one enjoyed working with.
He was a grand guy.”

Investigation continues in ‘the
early-morning robbery of Bolton's
Diner last Thursday, in which s
$200 was taken from vending and
pinball machines, and thieves ate
several pieces of pie in passing.
Chief Herbert Updyke, Kingston
Township Police, says he has a few
ideas ds to the identity of the
thieves, who gained entry through
a window on the south side.
By the manner in which the pin-
ball machines were expertly picked,
‘police suspect professionale. State
Police Paul Kleckner and Frank Mil-
ler assisted investigation.
