Hospital. He will remain confined

Celebrate 47th
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Newman,
East Dallas, celebrated their forty
seventh wedding anniversary Sun-
day with a family dinner given by
their daughter and son-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Stevens, East Dallas.
Mrs. Newman is the former Jen-
nie Jumper, daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. William Jumper of
Hanover Township. She spent her
early life in Ashley and the Town-
ship. Mr. Newman is a native of
Cambridge, England. = When he
to the States he settled in Kings-
ton where he operated a trucking
farm on the present Sears Roebuck
| site in the narrows, Kingston.
The couple was married by Rev.
McAlpine in the Scotch Methodist
Church, and came to Dallas forty
two years ago when Mr. Newman
purchased the farm they now own
at East Dallas. Part of the farm
was purchased by the Dallas School
District for the present High School.
The Newmans have always been

Elizabeth Schooley, daughter of Mrs.
Sherman Schooley and ‘the late Dr.
Schooley, Shavertown.
The couple have two other daugh-
ters, Cynthia Lou and Abbie Ann.

Mrs. White is the daughter of Mr.

town, the former Gail Woolbert.

A six pound four ounce son,
Shawn Patrick, was born to Mr. and
Mrs. William Murphy, Noxen, March
10 at ‘General Hospital. There are
four other children, William, fifteen,
Roberta, ten, Hugh, nine and Amber,
three. Mrs. Murphy is the former
Jean Kasson, Noxen. Mr. Murphy is
employed with Atlas Chain Co.,
Pittston,
Have First Child
Mr. and Mrs. Woodring Redmond,
Dallas R. D. 3, became the parents
of a s’x pound, nine ounce son, Rich-
ard David, March 10 at Nesbitt Hos-
pital. Mrs. Redmond is the former
Charlotte Armstrong, Orange. Mr.
Redmond is a Grey Hound bus
driver.
Cynthia Louise Martin
A six pound eleven ounce daughter,
Cynthia Louise, was born to Mr. and
Mrs. Kenneth Martin, R. D. 1, Dal-
las, March 11, at General Hospital.
There is one other child, Kenneth
C., two. Mrs. Martin is the former
Mary Gorgan, Kingston. Mr. Martin
operates a gas station in Kunkle.
McClarys, Grandparents
Twice In Three Months °
Twice within three months, Mr.
and Mrs. Ray McClary, Claude Street
Dallas, were made grandparents,
when babies were born to both their
daughters. On February 23 a son
Falcheck, Rochester, N. Y.,
son to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Lloyd,
Levittown, last December 15.
Mrs. Falcheck is the former Sylvia
McClary and Mrs. Lloyd is the form-
er Betty McCleary.
Debra Ann Lozier
Has Seventh Birthday
Debra Ann, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Lozier, Park Street, Dallas,
celebrated . her seventh birthday
Saturday with a party at her home.

her grandmother, Earl Joseph and

Celebrates Birthday
Mrs. Seth Howell, Roushey Street,
Shavertown, will celebrate her 75th
birthday on Wednesday.
A resident of Shavertown for
many years, she is the former Maizie
Hess, daughter of the late Samuel
and Carrie Herdman Hess, Kunkle.
As a girl she spent much time,
with her grandparents in Trucks-
ville, where she met her husband,
Seth Howell, brother of the late G.
L. Howell. Her grandfather, Samuel
R. Hess was Trucksville’s' post-
master during that period.
The Howells also lived in Fern-
brook for twenty years. They have
always been residents of the Back
Mountain. \ !
Mrs. Howell has three brothers
and two sisters, also residing in the
Back Mountain: Wheeler and Roy
Hess, Kunkle; Mrs. Russell Honey-
well and Frances Hess, Dallas.
Her daughter, Mrs. Geraldine
Pope is well known throughout the
vicinity, being engaged in business
in Shavertown. There are also two
grandchildren, Richard and Carol
Pope.
Mr. .and Mrs. Howell will cele-
brate their 55th wedding anni-
versary in October. A devoted
couple, their home is always a spot
to stop in for a chat.

92 Years Old, Patient
Admitted to General Hospital by
Lehman ambulance Monday, was
Mrs. Katie Patton, widow of Howard
Patton. Mrs. Patton, 92, long-time
resident of Shavertown and a recent
guest at the home of Mrs. Mildred
Davis, Lehman, is in room 274.
She would appreciate cards.

City. Mr. Reina is a radar special-
ist at Benton Air Force Base.
Left For Maine
Mrs. Samuel Fowler and children,
Sammy, Jackie Sue and Pammy,
flew to Loring Air Base, Maine, on
Friday. They have been residing
with Mrs. Fowler's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Kingston, Tarlton Ave-
nue, Dallas, since returning from
Africa, until Mr. Fowler could locate
a home in Maine where he is sta-
tioned.
