Mrs. C. N. Booth, Lehman Avenue,
is a patient at Mercy Hospital where
she was taken by Dallas ambulance.
Her nephew, Robert Brittin visited
at "the Booth home this week.
Mrs. Viola Schmassman, Wood
lawn Drive, confined to her home
with a virus, is improving slowly.

Ira Cease has returned to his

been confined to her home with a

Jeanette Wolverton spent Friday
with Grandma, while Mommy and
Dady were in Doylestown.
Lori DeReemer, 18 menths old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell
DdReemer, is a patient at Nesbitt
Hospital, being treated for an in-
fection of the trachea. When Lori
was only five months, she was hos-
pitalized with a bronchial infection.
Her grandfather is propr ietor of De-
Reemers TV. ‘Appliance Store in
Bhavertown.
Mr. and Mrs. Willis We and fam-
ily, Oak Hill, left Friday night to
spend some time in Annandale, Vir-
ginia, to visit Mr. and Mrs. Ralph

Are Honored At Dinner
Cub pack 444, Sweet Valley area,
held its annual Blue and Gold ban-
quet Thursday evening, February
28, at Maple Grove Methodist Church
Hall. Three dens and a Webelos den
were represented with approximately
one hundred people attending. Table |
centerpieces were gold flowers in
blue vases. At the speaker’s table
the centerpiece was miniature fig-
ueres of Den 1 and their den mother,
Mrs. Burl Updyke. The centerpieces
along with the favors were all made
by the cubs. The hall was gaily
decorated in blue and gold streamers
with a cluster of blue and gold bal-
loons in the hall's center.

eral Hospital. He weighed six and

Mark Wayne Rittenhouse
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Rittenhouse,

Wayne, February 25. There are
three other sons, Gale, Gerald and

Marlene Sickler Has
Ninth Birthday Party
Marlene Sickler, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Kermit Sickler, Carverton,
celebrated her ninth birthday with
a party Saturday afternoon. A cake
in the shape of a doll with appro-
priate candles was the table center
piece. Besides her, there were her
grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Dana
Sickler, honored guests. Also Mer-
lene’s sister, Mona, Donna, Billy
Perry, Patty Parrish, Sandy and
Kathy Perry were guests.
Martins Tour Southwest
Mr. and Mrs. James Martin, Le-
high Street, Shavertown, have re-
turned home after spending several
months touring the southwest and
Mexico.
The couple visited the Grand
Canyon, Petrified Forest, the Dodge
Phelps Copper Mine at Bisbee, Ari-
zona, which is the largest open pit
mine in the world and Meteor Cra-
ter near Winslow, Arizona, the sec-
ond largest crater of this type uni-
versally, having a depth of 570 feet
and one mile across at the top.
Last week they attended the
Mardi Gras in New Orleans and vis-
ited Avery Island, a large bird sanc-
tuary off the coast of Louisiana.
Ill At Jersey Hospital
George O. Hinkle, Lincoln Drive,
Shavertown, is a patient in River-
view . Hospital, Red Bank, N.J.,
where he was admitted on Saturday,
suffering from pneumonia.
Mr. Hinkle who makes his home
with his son, Ted, had been visiting
another son, Arlo, Hazlett, N.J.,
when he became ill.
He would appreciate cards from
his friends.

Meet With Chairman
Mrs. John Diffendafer will be
hostess March 12 to members of the
special committee planning for the
March 26 Junior Woman’s Club
fashion show, and card. and games
party at St. Therese’s auditorium,

Slightly Injured
Debbie Bunney, eight, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bunney, Joseph
Street, Dallas, was slightly injured
recently in Shavertown when alight-
ing from her father’s car and ran
in front of another automobile. She
suffered bruises and lacerations and
.was taken to Nesbitt Hospital for
X-rays.

February 12 a new grandson ar-
rived at the home of daughter, Mrs.
Douglas Gordon, Torrance, Calif.,
and Grandma Sedler went to take
care of Gary, four, and Ann Louise,
three.
This makes five grandsons and
one granddaughter.
