Lake Team Takes
After a week's layoff the Church
League season once again swung |
into action. Harveys Lake won its
ninth straight contest beating
Huntsville Christian 65:62 in a,
thrilling ball game. In another game !
fought to the final buzzer, Prince’
of Peace beat Shavertown 59-56.
In the opening game St. Therese’s
won by forfeit over East Dallas
when they used an ineligible player.
HUNTSVILLE VS, HARVEYS LAKE
In a very exciting ball-game, Har-
veys Lake won over Huntsville
Christian by a score of 65-62. The
game was one of high percentage
shooting as both teams hit on most
of their shots. Harveys Lake was
especially sharp on their outside
and corner shots while Huntsville
with their height had a good per-
centage on the inside shots. The
game was finally won on the foul
line with Harveys Lake hitting 9,

and for three quarters Shavertown
held a commanding lead. Finally
Prince of Peace began to roll in the

Dallas vs. Lake-Lehman
Dallas sailed to an easy victory

| 86-42, Friday night, in the newly
| finished Lake- Lehman Gym. The"
Mountaineers took the lead and con-
tinued ‘to run up points, building
a 51-19 score by half-time. In the
fourth quarter, both teams cleared
the benches.
Gauntlett dumped in 25 pointe
for Dallas. Sponseller made 16 for
the Knights. The loss was Lake-
Lehman's first in the season’s sec-
ond half.

Take Dallas 29-16
Two perennial rivals, Dallas and
Lake-Lehman, m2t on the wrestling
mat last Thursday with the Knights
| winners, 29-16. Although school
spirit was high, the wrestlers showed
gocd sportsmanship by ‘shaking
hands with their opponents in the
ceremony preceding the match.
Schaffer of Dallas started with a
decision, and Borthwick added threc
points at 112, after Klemunes had
outscored Bob Anderson, 2-0, to tie
the match at 3-3. At that time,: the
score was 6-3 and Dallas had its
only moment of glory. LakeLeh-
man’s Gary Anderson then started
his team rolling by pinning Voight
‘n 3:10. ‘Kerpovich and Brominski
-nded the match with wins, but
they couldn’t overcome a 13 point
deficit. 2

Kern, who was seven. The party
was held on Saturday = but little
Jimmy’s birthday is later in Feb-
ruary. The Kern family is leaving
on Thursday for three years in
Germany to be with their father,
Sgt. James Kern. They will drive
to McGuire Air Force base, Fort Dx,
N. J., and leave at 5 p. m.
