Charles Mannears Have Interesting Visitors Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mannear, Overbrook Avenue, Dallas, had a number of interesting visitors over the weekend. Daughter Brenda, completing her internship as dietitician at New York Hospital, (Cornell Medical Center), New York, brought her fellow interns home with her on Friday evening. Dolce Eleazar, a graduate of the Phillippines Women’s University, hails from the city of Maunta on the Islands. Gloria 'O’Coanol, an alumnug of Ohio State University, is a native of Guatemala. Her daughter, Pa- tricia, aged twelve, is residing with friends in Long Island while her mother completes her studies. Sponsored by the government of her country, Mrs. O'Coanol will return to her homeland as the first dietitician to work in that country. Nadine Hiassen, a native of Fargo, South Dakota, is a graduate of North Dakota State University. For Miss Eleazar, only recently arrived in this country, it wag her first trip out of New York City. Watson At Lackland Donald Richard Watson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald S. Watson, Idetown is with the 3727th Basic Training Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Watson is a 1962 Lake-Lehman graduate, who was employed by Jim-Jim’s Body Shop in Luzerhe before entering the service in December. At Leh- man, he was on the football team. Many pretty new young faces have been seen at Dallas Senior High iSchool ‘during the past few weeks, as future teachers show what their training has accomplished and be- come aware of the problems ‘they will face in their professions after graduation. For those who don’t understand what student teaching is, it is a time when senior students in college majoring in the teaching profession attend a high school for | a number of weeks. At first, they | observe each class and study meth-| ods used by each teacher. Then, for the remaining time, they teach classes of their major field. Whea | student teaching is completed, the | master teacher writes a report on | the future ‘teacher. This, with a re- port written by the student himself, is twmned into. the college to he evaluated. Keep Walks Clear, Says Our Postmaster To expedite the delivery of mail on borough delivery routes, it is re- quested by Postmaster Edward Buckley that property owners keep approaches to their residence clear of ice and snow. Carriers claim that many resi- dences still have not shoveled their sidewalks. This is one of the requis- ites for borough delivery. Walks must be kept clear of debris, ice and snow throughout the year. Postmaster Buckley asks that patrons use their complete address —that is, their complete number and name of street. New patrons are advised to change their address with the Bureau of Motor Vehicies within fifteen (15) days, as requir- ed by law, so they will get their applications for automobile tags, due in the near future.
