They visited the Methodist churches on ‘he island, the Bishop’s School and she Evangelical Seminary, By school bus they travelled over the mountains to visit churches on thegouthern shore. These moun- ;ains, Mrs. Reid said, have been ikened to inverted ice cream cones. On the trip they also visited the Bishop’s Youth Camp. By boat they ‘risited Vieques Island where one one missionary is doing a marvel- ous work. These ‘tourists ar- ived toward the end of the week when the closing sessions of the Puerto Rico Annual Conference vere in progress. Bishop Fred P. Lawry and John Albeck of Dallas represented ‘the policyholders of Western Luzerne County at a re- gional] meeting of policyholders in Bloomsburg, with representatives from ten counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania. 92 Years Old, Recovers From Two Broken Arms A woman of 92 in West Dallas is making medical history by re- covering from a plunge down thir- teen steps, an accident which left her with two broken arms, a frac- tured collarbone, and two cracked ribs. Injured October 18 at the home "of her son, Walter Goodman, Ide- town florist, Mrs. Margaret Good- man has had her arms free of the casts since December 1. A month later she was able to get out of bed by herself for the first time, and is now regaining cautious use of her arms. Her granddaughter, Mrs. Robert Pilger is essisting in her care. Burial will be at Chapel Lawn. } Mr. Howell( 74, died in the Leh- man ambulance on the way to Nes- bitt Hospital Monday morning at 1, following a severe heart attack. A native of Hanover Township, son of the late Watson and Hettie Griffin Howell, and educated in Han- over Township Schools, he moved to Lehman 39 years ago. For many years he managed the John Curtis Farm. Then, for a number of years he was custodian for Lehman High School, retiring two years ago. He belonged to Lehman Metho- dist Church, and was a Past Noble Grand of Osage Lodge IOOF. He leaves his widow, the former Florence Siegel; three daughters: Mrs. George Rogers, Lehman; Mrs. Charles McCulloch, Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Benjamin Rood, Delaware; a’ son Harry Jr., Dallas; three sisters, Edith, Freda and Emma Howell, all of Wilkes-Barre; nine grandchildren. Staffing the Lehman ambulance were Wesley Moore, Lewis Ide, and George Rogers, his son-in-law.
