jamin Harrison, Indiana, after being
called here by the death of his moth-
er, Mrs. Mary Comer, Kingston.
Mrs. Lottie ' Wroblewski, Center
Hill Road, entered General Hospital
Wegiesday for surgery to correct
a devrciency of a tear duct in her eye
which has been troubling her for
some years. She will be a patient
for four days.
Fireman 1st Class USN Richard
Griffith, and his wife, Boston Naval
Base, spent the past few days with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Griffith, Shavertown. Dick sails on
tour this week.
Mrs. Alwen Nortenson, one of the
friendlest people in Shavertown, is
confined to her home by illness.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Porter, Shaver
Avenue, had as Sunday dinner guests
Thurza and Alice Williams, Kingston.
Mrs. Johnson Miers, Perrin Ave-
nue, has been ill at her home.
Ruth Bennett, student nurse at
Geisinger Medical Center, spent the
weekend with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Sheldon Bennett, Trucksville.
Ruth, a graduate of Dallas Area High
School, will complete her training
this summer.
A. W. Shafer, Druid Hills, Shaver-
town, is a patient in Nesbitt Hos-
pital, where he underwent surgery
last gweek.

Mrs. Emma VanHorn, formerly of
Dallas, is spending the winter with
her two sons and their wives, Mr.
and Mrs. Henry VanHorn and Mr.
more, Md. Mrs. VanHorn is also
the mother of Mrs. Jesse Coslett.
Mrs. John T. Stahl, Lehman, and
daughter, Christine, «returned to
Boston last weekend with her hus-
band, Rev. John Stahl, who spent
the mid semester recess with his
family. Rev. Stahl is studying for
his master’s degree at Boston Uni-
versity. His parents, Mr. and Mrs.
John Stahl, Shavertown, made the
trip with ‘them to help in the mov-
ing. Young Mrs. Stahl had resided
temporarily in Lehman. A
Mrs. John Williams, Dallas, is
spending her entire:time.at the bed-
side of her very ill husband, who
“has been a patient in the Veterans’
Hospital for some months. The Wil-
liams operate the variety store on
Church Street.
Hilda Carey is leaving today for
the erican Alumni Council Dis-
trict’ ¥2 which will be held at Po-
cono Manor. It starts today and
ends Friday.

Lake, is a patient at Geisinger
Hospital. SA .
Mr. and Mrs. John Novitski,
Sutton Road, Trucksville, recently
had as weekend guests, the latter's
mother and sister, Mrs. Helen Zu-

R. N., New York City.
Mrs. Jerome Gardner, Sr., Shrine
Acres, retuned home on Monday after
having been a patient in General
Hospital.

town, spent the weekend in Carlisle
as the guests of the former’s daughter
and husband, Mr. and Mrs. James
‘White. Mrs. White is the former Gail

Is Honored On Birthday
Mr. and Mrs. George Wesley, Sr.
Sweet Valley entertained at a birth-
day party Saturday, January 26,
honoring their daughter, Mary Claire,
who was fourteen. She is a member
of the Freshman class, Lake-Lehman
high school. Games and dancing were
enjoyed, with plenty of refreshments
on hand. Attending were Betty
Zapotoski, Helen and Ellen Ide, Dian-
ne Evans, Michael Finan, Dianne Bliz-

Patty Ann Lasher
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lasher, De-
munds Road announce the birth of
a daughter on January 27 in Nesbitt
Hospital. They have named her, Patty
Ann and she weighed in at 7 pounds
12 ounces.
The Lashers have a son, “Chuckie”
who will be 4 in March.
Mrs. Lasher is the former Barbara
Kern, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. He-
man Kern, Harvey's Lake and Mr.
Lasher is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Reue] Lasher, Demunds Road. Patty
makes six grandchildren for both
the Kerns and the Lashers.
Have Baby Girl
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rothen-
becker, Alexandria, Va., announce
the birth of a baby girl, January 4.
Mr. Rothenbecker is formerly
from Wilkes-Barre. Mrs. Rothen-
becker is ‘the former Ann Gray,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Gray of Pikes Creek. This is the
couples third child.
Fred R. Westfield 3rd
Dr. and Mrs. Fred R. Westfield,
Fort Lauderdale, Fla., announce the
birth of a son, Fred R. Westfield, III,
on January 22 in Holy Cross Hos-
pital in Fort Lauderdale. This is
the couple’s first child. Mrs. West-
field is the former Dorothy Williams
of Kingston. Dr. Westfield 6 is a
resident ‘doctor at Holy Cross Hos-
pital. Heeis son of Mr. and Mrs.
Fred R. Westfield, former residents
of Mt. Greenwood.

recently entertained at her home

Myra Price, Surprised
On Sixty Fifth Birthday
Myra Price, Sutton Road, Trucks-
ville, was pleasantly surprised on
Saturday, January 26, when mem-
bers of her family arrived, unex-
pected, to hold a birthday party.
She was sixty five. Attending were
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Roberts, Daniel
Jr., Coopersburg, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Jones, Debbie and Tommy,
Bethlehem; Mrs. Howerth James
Kingston; Mr. and Mrs. David Price,
Harveys Lake. Mrs. Roberts and
Mrs. James are daughters of Mrs.

Mrs. Price was guest of the John
Novitski family, also of Sutton
Road, on Friday evening, where the
little Novitskis, Janice, Jill, Jack
and Jeff, surprised her with a lovely
birthday cake.

was the setting Saturday, January
26, for the nuptial mass which
united :in marriage Marie Annette
Stolarick, and Robert Daniel Sen-
chak att 10 a.m. She is daughter
{of Mr: “and Mrs. George Stolarick,
Ridge Street, Fernbrook. Mr. Sen-
chak is son,of Mr. and Mrs. John
Senchak, Sr., Overbrook Avenue,
Shavertown.
Rev. Francis Brennan, assistant
pastor, officiated at the double ring
ceremony. Mrs. Eileen McDowell
was organist and Adrian E. De-
Marco, Sr., soloist.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore: floor length gown
of, lace over taffetta, with fitted
bodice, cap sleeves and scoop neck-
line. ' The bouffant skirt was in
tiers, featuring a short train. Her
elbow length veil of French illusion
fell from a two tiered crown of
aurora borealis ‘and she carried a
Colonial bouquet of white carna-
tions, centered with an orchid
corsage.
Maid of honor was Anne Marie
Lechak, ‘Courtdale, cousin of the
bride. Donna Lee Henninger, Fern-
brook, was bridesmaid. Miss Le-
chak’s gown was aqua, Miss Hen-
ninger’s pink. Their gowns fea-
tured an empire bodice with sa-
brina neckline. Waistlines were ac-
centuated with large bows, and the
bouffant skirts were hooped. Their
veils, which fell from a crown of |
pearls, matched their gowns and any member or at the door.
they carried Colonial bouquets of
white carnations. :
John Senchak,, Jr., was his
brother’s best man. Acting as
ushers were Stephen Moleski, Kings-
ton, cousin of the bride, and Fred
Senchak, Shavertown, brothers of :
the groom.
Mrs. Stolarick, mother of the
bride selected toast sheath dress of
chantilly lace over satin bodice with
satin skirt. Her accessories were
beige. Mrs. Senchak, mother of the
groom chose two piece dress of
blue brocade, trimmed with fur, ac-
cessories matching the dress. Their
corsages were of orchids.
Following the ceremony a wed-
ding reception was held at Kone-.
fals Hall, Edwardsville, and the
couple left for a wedding trip.
Mrs. Senchak is a graduate of
Gate of Heaven Elementary school.
She attended Dallas Senior High
School. Mr. Senchak is a graduate
of Westmoreland High School, and
Wyoming Valley Technical School.
He is employed at Hy-Art Lamp
Manufacturing Company, Wilkes-
Barre. ’
They are residing at 28 Ridge
Street, Fernbrook.

Branch Mercy Hospital Auxiliary by
Miss Frances Dorrance, Sister Mir-
iam will autograph copies of her
latest book, “Love Is Enough.”
She will read from both this vol-
ume and from an earlier volume,
“Woven of the Sky.”
Sister Miriam’s poems are in a
class by themselves, delicate with
