Although you passed away
Six years ago today,
Mommy still remembers you
As though it were yesterday.
And even though it makes me blue
To remember losing you,
I am content to know that
God needed you above,
And in my heart I'll keep
Remembering you with lots of love.

Four Elders At
Mormon Church
Work Expands In
Back Mountain
Four ministers from ‘the Church
of Christ of Latter Day Saints have
been assigned to this area to organ-
ize a youth activities program. Join-
ing Elders Eldon Quinn from Las
Vegas and Jack A. Weyland from
Billings, Montana, both of whom
time, are Elders A. Reed Gibby,
from Los Angeles and Dennis Chap-
man from Mesa, Arizona.
It is not generally known that
the Mormon Church sponsors the
largest basketball and ‘softball
league in the world, involving over
10,000 young men, and that it was
the first’ religious organization to
sponsor the Boy Scout movement.
Young people who are interested
in wholesome active recreation, and
willing to maintain a high standard
of behavior may get further infor-
mation about the program by writ-
ing to Elder Jack A. Weyland at
145 South Lehigh Street, Trucks-
ville. Proposed activities include
basketball, | drama, dances, - choir,
ice-skating, swimming, and talent
shows.
The four young elders are part
of a group of over 12,000 who wvol-
untarily donate two years of their
youth at their own expense to fur-
thering their mother church, re-
turning to college or secular pur-
suits after their time of “laboring” |
Elder Gibbs, laboring at Brown's
Mills, N.J!, before coming to Trucks-
ville, had attended Ventura Colleg.
in California, majoring in civil en-
gineering. Elder Chapman, coming
here from ‘Albany, has completed
one year at Brigham Young Univer-
sity, majoring in political science. |
Elder Quinn, in Trucksville for the |
past three months, majored in |
speech therapy at Idaho State Col-
lege. Elder Weyland, joining Elder!
Quinn a few weeks ago from Long
Island, holds a bachelor of physics
degree from Montana State College. |
