Harveys Lake vs. Prince of Peace In a game that was supposed to be tight all the way, Harveys Lake took the measure of its closest com- petitor, Prince of Peace, by the score of 70-39. The first quarter was close with Harveys Lake leading 10-11. After that, the fast breaking boys from the Lake began rolling, and half-time score was 29-22. In the next two periods Prince of Peace was outscored 41-17. Jim Thomas | played his usual fine game with many rebounds and 19 points but none of his teammates could muster up much of a scoring punch. The Harveys Lake defense did a nice job of stopping the driving shots of T. Richardson and their alert defense turned many loose passes into fast- breaks which took its toll in the sec ond half. For the Harveys Lake club, once again it was a team effort all the way, led by the scoring punch of Gene Brobst and Zeke Hinkle. The front line defense was very alert and intercepted many passes from their opponents. Looks like Harveys Lake is headed for an undefeated season and they are out to prove it true. Harveys Lake G. The game started out iI slow, but as the time increased, so did the tempo of scoring. Huntsville did a good job of dominating both boards and ‘this became more evi- dent as the game went on. Also, * East Dallas ran into trouble with their fouling and the Huntsville club kept driving and making their fouls whenever the opportunity pre- sented itself. Wes Evans and Tenza led the scoring for the losers but neither of them could really break loose. Evans also did the major part of the rebounding for the Dallas club. For the winners, once again, Fosse- dal played his usual game, captur- ing many rebounds and throwing in 16 points. He was given a lot of help by Charlie Brobst and Gary Dietz. Huntsville G. F. Pts. Shavertown won 49-47 on some clutch shooting in the last quarter, outscoring their opnonents 15-5. St. Therese’s started fast and led at halftime 18-14 with Dubois, Leach and K. Yeisley scoring 22 of the 28 points. The third quarter was pretty much of a stand-off, both teams being about even. ‘In the fourth quarter St. Therese’s began having trouble finding the range and Shavertown started closing the gap on the shooting of Rome and Hontz. Finally with less than a minute to go Shavertown knotted the score. St. Thersse’s missed two on the foul line and Shavertown pulled down the rebound. Thev took the ball down the. floor and Hontz was fouled in the act of shooting, and he calmly ‘tossed in both of them for a two point lead. St. Therese’s got the bal: with six seconds to go but a last shot just rolled off the rim as the bell sound- fg ed.
