In last Saturday night’s games
in the Church League, played at
Dallas Junior H'S. Harveys Lake
defeated Shavertown. Prince of
Peace won a squeaker; over East
Dallas and Huntsville romped
over St. Therese’s.
Huntsville Vs. St. Therese’s
In last Saturday night's opener,
Huntsville Christian took the meas-
ure of St. Therese’s 77-35. Hunts-
ville started clicking in the first
quarter and built up a 25-6 lead
at the end of the first eight minutes,
and kept adding to it as the game
progressed. The Huntsville club
used the strong rebounding to good
advantage against the smaller Saints
club.
Don Fossedal did an outstanding
job in scoring, coming through with
31 points, a season’s high for him.
Charlie Brobst played a fine defen-
sive game and came through with
six field goals on some real tricky
shots. Huntsville had four men in
double figures which was just too
much offense for St. Therese’s.
Rip Dubois = with ‘his twisting
trick drive in shots led the Saints
in scoring with 15 points, followed
Harveys Lake Vs. Shavertown
Once again the club from the Lake
continued on ‘its all winning ways
dumping Shavertown 78-55. With
all eight players in the scoring col-
umn it was just too much offense
for the Shavertown club.

goals to capture individual scoring
honors for ‘the evening. Dave
3chales scored 12 points and pulled
down many more rebounds and
Dick Searfoss with his outside shoot-
ing soon had the Shavertown club
tuted frequently keeping the pres-
sure on the Shavertown club who
nad only five men.
Bobby Hontz and T. Oney scored
37 points between them in a fine
effort. Hontz made some real nice
shots from the corner and Oney
had to really work for his baskets
as Dave Schales was playing the
pivot and with a 6.7 man guarding
the middle it’s mighty tough geeting
a shot off inside .
Harris, Bolton and B. Brobst at
times really had a fast break going
for Harveys Lake and contributed
18 points in the winning cause.

tight right from the opening tap-

Thomas sank a goal to move Prince

to gain possession but ‘the Prince
of Peace capitalized on the fouls
before giving up possession.
Tim Thomas tossed in 25 points
for the victors, nine of them coming
in the crucial last quarter. Bob
Richardson played one of his finest
games this season scoring 14 on 7
field goals and really showing a lot
of hustle on the floor.
For the losing East Dallas club
Wes Evans played his usual fine |
game, offensively scoring 18 points
and doing the major part of the
rebounding. Frank Tenza with his
soft one hand push tossed in 19
