Bishop Confirms 140
At St. Therese's
St. Therese’s Church, Shaver-
town, was filled to overflowing Sun-
day afternoon when clergy, friends
and relatives of the 140 confirmands |
witnessed the impressive ceremony.
The Most Reverend Henry T.
Klonowski, D.D., Auxiliary Bishop
of Scranton, performed the Sacra-
ment of Confirmation with Rev.
Francis Kane and Rev. Garrity act-
ig as chaplains.
A number of visiting clergy seat-
ed in the sanctuary, assisted in the
services.
The children presented a charm-
ing picture, with the girls dressed
in white robes topped by a red col-
lar and wearing matching red skull
caps, the boys in red robes.
Lovely arrangements of red roses,
symbol of confirmation, graced the
altar, The Men’s Choir furnished
‘the music under direction of Adrian
DeMarco. Edward Zaboski was or-
ganist.

from Times Square rallies expanded
into some of the greatest Chris-

the Yankee Stadium.
“Our young people need and want
the discipline that is somehow
missing from modern American
life,” he says, “and the Communists
are quick to take advantage for
their totalitarian aims, finding a
fertile field in unguided or mis-
guided youth. A Bible-centered
faith was once the glory of our na-
tion, the foundation of true pa-
triotism, wholesome citizenship, and
abundant help for others.”
This will be a challenging pro-
gram. Don’t miss it. A tremend-
ous amount of planning has gone
into Mr. Wyrtzen’s appearance and
the Dallas School Board has voted
use of the auditorium. This evan-
gelist deserves a full house.
