formal letter ‘to the congregation,
excerpts of which were read at a
meeting of the congregation Decem-

He said, in effect, thirty-five
years and 1700 sermons were too
much.
The congregation disagreed. A
motion was made by Carl Roberts
and seconded by Arline Covert,
that Rev. Frick’s resignation not be
accepted.
In the meantime, Rev. Frick is
carrying on his work as usual, Agile

Resignation Will Not Be Accepted
Rev. Charles H, Frick, pastor of | Frick has led the youth of the con-
Christian Church, = has
gregation on a walk through the
snow-clad hills, ending with food
and hot chocolate at a campfire not
too distant from the church.
Definite plans await decision by
Rev. and Mrs. Frick. The congréga-
tion built the parsonage for them
some years ago, and during Rev.
Frick’s pastorate the oldest church
in the Back Mountain has experi-
enced a number of enlargements
and renovations.
It has been said of this distin-
guished looking man, with his erect
carriage and his noble head, ‘He

If .Rev. Frick does indeed carry
out his intention to resign his pas-
torate, the entire area will have
suffered a great loss.
For here is a man of God who is
completely sincere, dedicated to his
Faith, wearing the mantle of
Christianity with dignity and hu-
mility.

Brother Finds Mr. Urich
Dead [In His Bed
Michael Yurich, Huntsville-Cease-
town Road, was found dead in bed
Wednesday afternoon by his brother
Joseph, whe had dropped by to
check on him, knowing that the
sister, Mrs. John Dougar, with
whom he made his home, was
away for the Christmas holidays.
Mr. and Mrs. Dougar returned im-
mediately.
Death = was attributed to a
hemorrhage of the lungs by deputy
coroner Richard Disque. The World
War II veteran who had served in
Greenland, had been employed by
the Loree Colliery of Hudson Coal
Company until four years ago. He
lived in the Dallas area for fifteen
years.
He was born in Plymouth, son of
Michael and Anna Kacan Urich.
Surviving beside his parents and
the brother and sister already
named, is another sister, Mrs.
Catherine Dougar, Philadelphia, and
another. brother John, Swoyerville.
Freddie Home
For Christmas
Returns Saturday
To Johnstown
Freddie Hennebaul will leave his
home at Harveys Lake on Saturday
bound by Harveys Lake ambulance
again for Johnstown Rehabiliation
Center. John Stenger and Lee Zim-
merman will make the trip with
the boy who has been incapacciated
for a year since suffering injuries
while wrestling at Lake-Lehman.
Freddie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wal-
ter Hennebaul, was to have come
home on an air mattress. The com-
munity offered air mattresses by
the dozen.
On December 21, snow-covered
roads mandated ambulance trans-
portation instead of private station
wagon.
The Christmas holiday has been
a pleasant one for the family, with
increased. “hope that Freddie will
recover use of his limbs. During
the three months he has been at
Johnstown, he has made noticeable
strides.
He was at Geisinger Medical Cen-
ter for months at first unable to
move his head, later, after a bone
graft, getting good motion, and
with sensation returning to his arms.
For weeks he wore a collar to keep
his head immobilized.
4-H ElectricClub
To Be Formed =
On Friday evening, January 11
at 7:30 in Trucksville Fire Hall, the
4H Electric Club program will be
offered to all boys and girls in the
area between the ages of 11 and 21,
according to an announcement by
Ralph Beard, associate county agent.
Club members develope knowledge
of the fundamentals of electricity—
what it is, where it comes from,
and how it gets to the user, and
safety factors involved. Boys and
girls develope their knowledge ac-
cording to their own interest.
Members will learn care and
maintenance of electrical equipment
according to manufacturers instruc-
tions on cleaning, lubricating, serv-
adjusting, storing and in-
specting for safety. They will learn
to use electrical equipment properly
and profitably, to build useful elec-
trical equipment, make simple re-
pairs and many other things.
Morris Sheckler, Dallas, R.D. 1,
will be the project leader. You are
invited to belong. :
Skaters Out
Skaters were scraping snow off
the ice at Harveys Lake over the
weekend, especially around Warden
Place. The recent cold snap was
responsible for the good ice.
