candlelight ceremony all Girl Scouts
of Troop 27 received Curved Bars,
the highest award in scouting.
Each girl had a part in the cere-
mony after which they were
awarded recently earned badges.
They also received membership
stars and Karen Fisk received her
five-year pin. :
Mrs. Donald Smith, leader, pre-
sented each girl’s mother with her
daughter’s Curved Bar. The mother
in turn pinned it on her daughter’s
uniform.

The leaders thanked all those
responsible for helping the girls to
achieve this honor.
A girl. scout 50th anniversary
paperweight was presented to Don
Smith, the more than patient dad
of the troop.
Following the ceremony, the girls
put on a sketch showing some of
the humorous incidents of their
meetings. &
After this “The
Goss Manor performed some un-
usual and amazing feats of magic
which delighted everyone.
These local people do wonderful
magic act and should be seen more
often in our community.
Refreshments included a large
cake decorated with a green Girl
Scout trefoil and the line, “Con-
gratulations Girl Scout Troop 27.
Mrs. Donald D. Smith: is the lead-
er of this troop and Mrs. Harvey
Kitchen the Assistant, leader. Mrs.
