Weds Sterling Wandell
Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock
Mable Scott March, married Sterling
L. Wandell of Sunbur y, former
Kingston resident, in Kingston
Methodist Church. Rev. Robert
Lukens, pastor and Rev. Dr. George,
Bell, an old family friend, of-
ficated. Paula Scott, niece of the
bride of Dallas, was soloist, and
Mrs. Harold Rood, Dallas, played the
organ. The bride is the former
Mrs. Charles L. March.
Attendants were Mrs. George Met-
calfe and Dr William E. Strous.
Becky Metcalfe was junior brides-
maid. Durelle Scott, Dallas, Wilbur
Scott, Wilkes Barre, Vester Vercoe
and George Metcalfe acted as
@ ushers.
Following the reception in the
Church hall, the couple left for a
southern trip. They will reside in
Sunbury, where Mr. Wandell is
president of Susquehanna Valley
Bank and Trust Company. He is
also a member of the board of Wyo-
ming National Bank, Wilkes Barre.
Fernbrook Hobby Club
Has Christmas Party
‘The Hobby Club, Fernbrook, held
its Christmas party on Tuesday eve-
ning at the Kingston House. Decora-
tions were Christmas carolers ar-
ranged on boughs of greens. Secret
pals for the past year were revealed
and new ones picked. Gifts were |
exchanged, and games played. Mem-
bers reminisced about -the good
times had in past years.
The following were present: Mes-
dames Alfred Wendel, Carol Lasher,
Mary Reese, Sally Wagner, Mary
Lasher, Priscilla: Coolbaugh, Ruth
Young, Florence Martin, Warren
Stanton, Vida Adams, Susie Welch,
- Gladys Gabel, Joyce Sidorek, Verna
~ Cummings, Doris Kitchen, Barbgara
Lasher, Agnes Sidorek.
Next meeting will be held in
January at the home of Mary Reese.
Ponds Frozen Over
Many small ponds are frozen over
and afford good ice skating. In spite
of zero weather for several nights
running, Harveys Lake and Hunts-
| tea table.
Mrs. Edward Jones and Mrs. Willis
ville Reservoir are not frozen.

To Celebrate 50th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Smith, 85
Carverton Road, Trucksville, will
celebrate their golden wedding an-
niversary on Christmas Day.
1912, at the home of the bride's
parents in Idetown by the late Rev.
John R. Austin. Attendants were
Adelia Ide, sister of the bride, and
Edward Smith; brother of the groom.
Mrs. Smith is the daughter of the
late Araminta Marcy Ide and Daniel
Ide of Idetown.
Mr. Smith is son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Peter Smith.

United Furniture Manufacturers of

fifteen grandchildren and one great-
gradson.
The couple will entertain rela-
tives, friends and neighbors at open
house om Christmas Day from 2:00
to 8:00 p. m. No invitations have
been issued.
Lehman Womans Club
Has Annual Christmas Tea
Annual Christmas Tea of Lehman
Woman's Club was held December
12, at the Lehman Fire Hall. Mrs.
Thomas Brown presided at ‘the

ite Burke, Mrs. Helen Easton, and
officers of Jonathon R. Davis Fire
Company Auxiliary and Lehman Fire
Company Auxiliary. Present from
these organizations wlere: Mrs.
George Carpenter, Mrs. Becky Cas-
terline, Mrs. Renee Kanasky, Mrs.
Louis Laning, and Mrs. Dorothy

The tea table was decorated with
lovely pink Christmas centerpiece
and featured the beautiful silver tea
and coffee service recently pur-
chased by the club. The setting was
completed by artistic little sand-
wiches and cakes made by the hos-
pitality - committee.
Chairman of the affair was Mrs.
Joseph Chipola. Mrs. Mark Grimm,
chairman of decorations, was assist-
ed by Mrs. Paul Henritzy, Mrs. John
Kenyon, and Mrs. John Callahan.
Mrs. Leo Mohen, chairman of hospi-
tality, was assisted by Mrs. Edward
Skalicky, Mrs. George Elley, Mrs.
Walter McGuire, Mrs. William Cole,
Mrs. Edward Jones, Mrs. Edward
Gilmer, and Mrs. Maurice Evans.
The program was a humorous
musical program presented by Clyde
Owens, Elementary Music Supervisor
in Wilkes-Barre.
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Hilbert have
been ill at their home on Lehman
Avenue for the past two weeks, Mrs.
Hilbert with a heart condition, Mr.
Hilbert with the flu.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peterson,
Norton Avenue, will have as guests
at Christmas their daughter, Ann,
and her roommate of Montreal.

eight pound, four ounce baby girl,

The bride-elect is a 1957 graduate
of Montrose Consolidated High
School. The groom attended Union
Springs Academy.
Mrs. John Butler of [Shavertown,
received the call at what was noon
in Germany. This is their first child.
Mrs. Lukasavage is the former
Sharon Butler. Mrs. Lukasavage is
