Local Church Gives
Equipment To Navajos
Rev. Russell Edmondson, pastor
of Shavertown Bible Church whose
‘parishioners are deeply concerned
with the plight of the Navajo In-
dians at Marianna Lake, New Mex-
ico, has reported that radio equip-
ment, costing $450 has been pur-
chased and sent to missionaries at
the site.
The group also maintains a home
for unwanted children of the Indian
tribes. There are twelve at present
being cared for. Rev. Edmondson
states that drinking has become
the number one problem among
the Navajos, displacing the high in-
cidence of tuberculosis once ram-
pant among these people.

Takes Top Time Cup
Dave Adams, 190 Clearview Ave-
nue, Trucksville, took fastest time
of the day at a gymkhanna Sunday,
November 25, at Towers Discount
City with a Triumph TR-3.
Adams was clocked at 51.8 sec-
onds for, the course, and won a
trophy. A gymkhanna is a timed
obstacle.course for foreign and sports
cars.
Next fastest time was registered
by Carl Mugford, Kingston, 52.3
seconds in a TR-3.
Adams is married and employed
by International Business Machine
in Scranton. He was recently of-
fered as Northeastern Pennsylvania
