Dr. and Mrs. Michael Bucan, West
Center Street, had as Thanksgiving
guests Mr. and Mrs. Willard Durbin,
Jr., and children, Claire, Kim and
Lynne, Smithtown, Long Island; Mr.
and Mrs. Marion Hally, Judd Kulp,
Pittsburgh; Mr. and Mrs. Willard
Durbin, Sr., and Charles Glasser,
Shavertown. Daughters, Cindy and
Susan were delighted with all the
company.
Bert Riley, East Center Street, was
removed ‘to his home on Friday from
Nesbitt Hospital.
Pearl Averett, Shaver Avenue, has
returned home after visiting her
brother, Harvey Averett, Bingham-
ton.
rs. John H. Ichter and her fa-
th® C. M. Keller, Ashley, have
moved into ‘the Williams’ Apart-
ments on Spring Street. Mrs. Ichter
is the mother of Mrs. Charles Beech,
Teller at Wyoming National Bank.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Carey, Sun-
set Avenue, had as recent guests, the
latter's father, Mark Bush, Pioneer
Avenue, and brother, Clesson Bush,
Arlington, Virginia, On Sunday they
entertained Mr. and Mrs. James
Carey and family of Nanticoke.
Stanley Davis, Lehigh Street, re-
mains in serious condition at Robert
Packer Hospital in Sayre.
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hill, Pioneer
Avenue, entertained the following
members of their family at Thanks-
giving dinner: Mr. and Mrs. Willard
Lozo, Jennie Hill, Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Hill and sons, Tommy and
Jay C., all of Shavertown and Mr.
and Mrs. Alfred Franceschetti and
son, Alfred, Jr., Hatchville, Mass.
Sincere sympathy is extended to
Bill Cushner, Perrin Avenue, in his
recent bereavement.

accident suffered while at work.
Mr. and Mrs. Karl Landmesser,
Brook Street, had their two sons,
Karl Jr., Philadelphia, and ‘Barry,
Junior at Pennsylvania State Uni-
versity, home for the Thanksgiving
holiday.
Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Clark, Vestal,
N. Y,, and Mr. and Mrs. William
Gillespie, Edwardsville, were Thanks-
giving guests of Mrs. Mdwzrd Adams
and Thelma Adams Srigveer
Avenue. Mrs. Clark is the former
Anna Adams.
Sally Pierson and Robert Berg-
quist, Long Island, were the week-
end guests of the former's aunt and
uncle, Mr. and Mrs. John Clause and
daughter, Brenda, Pioneer Avenue.
Mrs. ‘Seth Howell, Roushey Street,
is a patient in Nesbitt Hospital,
where she was admitted last Monday
evening. This is the first time Mrs.
Howell has been a hospital patient,
and the first time in fifty-four years
separated since their marriage.
The name of Mrs. Elizabeth Mehm
was not included in the Thanksgiv-
ing dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
William Morgan, Main [Stre‘et.
Grandma Mehm has lived with her
daughter and family for many years
and is always a participant in all
their get to-gethers. Additional
guests were Mrs. Raymond Morgan
and Mrs. Kethel of Wilkes-Barre.
Charles Malkemes, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Raymond Malkemes, Franklia
Street, spent Thanksgiving Day with
his famiy. “Chuck,” as he is better
known to his friends, is a sophomore
at Pennsylvania State University.
We are happy to hear that Mrs.
William Dungey, James Street, has
returned home after being a patient
at Wyoming Valley Hospital.
Mr .and Mrs. Carl Gordon and |
family, Roushey Street, have moved |
to Sweet Valley.
Mr. and Mrs. Denton Updyke,
Courtdale, have moved into the
dons.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Malkemes, Fer-
guson Avenue, had as weekend
guests, their daughter, Peggy, New
York City, and son, Fred, Jr. of
Bergenfield, N. J. ;
Mr. and Mrs. Dana Campbell,
William Street, were guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Cyphers, Carverton,
for Thanksgiving.
Mr. and Mrs. F. W. McDermott
and children, Teaneck, N. J., spent
the holiday weekend with the lat-
ter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Newton
Ness, Kirkendall Road.
Joseph Ransom, who resides with
his sister, Mrs. George Hoffman,
Main Street, was taken to Mercy
Hospital in Kingston Township am-
bulance Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ash and son,
Tommy, Main Street, and Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Ash, Harris Hill Road,
had Thanksgiving dinner with Mrs.
iS. M. Ash, Kingston.
Young Billy Daubert, son of Mr.
Street, hunting for the first time,
bagged three rabbits and a squirrel
on Saturday. His grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. E. J. Berlew, Wilkes-Barre,
came out on Sunday to enjoy a
game dinner at the Daubert home.
Mr. and Mrs. William Glahn and
son, Billy, East Center Street, spent
Thanksgiving as the guests of Lt.
Colonel and Mrs. Irvin C. Davis,
Washington, D. C.
Merl Bigelow, Jr., is a patient in
Nesbitt Hospital where he under-
went surgery last week. He is com-
ing along nicely.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Michel, Main
Street, visited relatives. in New Jer-
sey and Philadelphia during the
holidays, returning home on Satur-
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Griffith,
Main Street, had as dinner guests on
Thanksgiving, Mr. and Mrs. Gay
Crawford, Wilkes-Barre. Mr. Griffith
