nia, Mrs. TItrich is the ' former
Mabel Yaple, who is also a sister of
John Yaple, Goss Manor. Mrs. Keefer
flew out by jet from Philadelphia.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Loomis recent-
ly spent two weeks visiting relatives

Miss Laura Smith has returned to
her home on Huntsville Road after
being a patient at Nesbitt Hospital
as result of a heart attack. She
is feeling much better.
Joe’ Rusinko, Harveys Lake, is a
patient at Nesbitt Hospital where
he submitted to surgery.
Mrs. Charles Weatherill, Rovera
Beach, Fla., spent several days visit-
ing: Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Richards,
Lehman Avenue, Dallas.
Nancy Wolfe, sophomore at Mans-
- Weld State College, spent the week-

his home on Davenport Street after

St. is a surgical patient at Nesbitt
Hospital.

Carol Williams, Dallas, spent Satur-
day in Tyrone, where they visited
Mr, and Mrs. George Burget and
Janet. Carol and Janet were room-
mates, while trainees’at the John-
town Rehabilitation Center. They
also had the opportunity to see an-
other friend they had met at the.

fered a heavy fall Tuesday, a leg
which had been fractured several
years ago giving way under her.
She was taken by ambulance to
Nesbitt Hospital Wednesday for
X-Rays.
Stanley Davis, Lehigh Street,
Shavertown, was admitted on Tues-
day to Robert Packer Hospital in
Sayre.

Jr., are now residing in the Philadel-
phia area. Mr. Baur, buyer for
Laubach’s Department Store, East-
on, is son of Mr. and Mrs. John
Baur, Sr,, Shaver Avenue, Shaver-
town. Julie Ann has one brother,
eighteen month old, Michael.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Precone,
Overbrook Ave., Dallas, announce
the birth of a son, Paul, October 26,
in Nesbitt Hospital. He weighed
7 lb. 5 oz. There are ‘three other
children, Mike, ten, Joseph, eight,
and Roseanne, four. ‘
Mrs. Precone is the former Flor-
ence Stronoski, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs, Alex Stroneski, Kingston. Mr,
Precone is son of Mrs. Rose Precone
and the late Mr. Precone of Luzerne.
Cynthia Lee Ostrum
Mr. and Mrs. Willidim Ostrum,
Demunds Road, R. D. 3, Dallas, an-
nounce the birth of a daughter,
Cynthia Lee, October 16 in Nesbitt
Hospital. She weighed six lbs. and
four ounces. The Ostrums have two
other daughters, Annlyn, seven and
Joy, nineteen months.
Mrs. Ostrum is the former Ann
Bunney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Bunney, Chase. Mr. Ostrum
is son of Mr. and Mrs. William Os-
trum, Demunds Road.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McGlynn,
Shaver Street, Dallas, announce the
birth of a son, Thomas, Jr., their
first child, in Nesbitt Hospital, Oct-
ober 23. He weighed seven pounds.
Mrs. McGlynn is the former Bev-
erly Noon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Noon, Fernbrook, and Mr.
McGlynn is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
John McGlynn of Wilkes-Barre.
Deborah Ann VamHorn
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas VanHorn,
Dallas, R. R. 3, have announced the
birth of a baby girl, Deborah Ann,
six pounds, thirteen ounces, at Gen-
eral Hospital on Septembter 29.
There is also a baby boy, Edward
fourteen months, :
Mrs. VanHorn is the former Alice
Doran. Mr. VanHorn is son of Mr.
and Mrs. Edward VanHorn of Dallas.

Robert Ides, Surprised
When Family Flies Home
Mr. and Mrs. Robert B. Ide were
pleasantly surprised when their son-
in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Roese and children, Ronald,
Franklin and Betsy Sue flew their
“Piper Commanche” plane from
Cleveland, Ohio to Forty Fort. Ar-
riving at the airport they were met
by Mrs. Roese’s sister and husband,
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lloyd and son
Tommy of Kingston and driven to
the Ide residence in Lehman. While
there Mrs. Roese celebrated her
birthday with the following mem-
bers of the Ide family: Mr. and
Mrs: Alfred E. Laing, Horsham, Pa.;
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lloyd and son
Tommy, Kingston, Mrs. Nelson R.
Conden and children Martin, Terry
and Victor, Owego, New York; Mr.
and Mrs. John Robert Ide and chil-
dren Ralph, Bobbie Ann, Ricky and
Evelyn, Harding, Pa.; and Audrey,
Arthur and Roberta at home. ;
The following day Mr. and Mrs.
Roese and family flew to Elmira,
New York to visit Mr. Roese’s par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Roese.
Upon returning to Forty Fort they
were met by Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Laing and Arthur Ide who were
given a plane ride over Harveys
Lake and surrounding areas.
Before leaving for ©Ohia, Mr.
Roese took Mrs. Robert Ide, ac-
companied by her daughters Audrey
and Roberta and grandson Ralph
for an enjoyable flight over Wyo-
ming Valley and the Back Mountain
Area. Mrs. Ide commented that it
was ‘the thrill of a lifetime.”
The Roeses also visited Mr.
Roese’s grandmother Roese and
other relatives at Red Rock. Both
Mr. and Mrs. Roese are graduates
of Lehman High School.

Mr. and Mrs. John S. Duda Plan
Fiftieth Anniversary Party
“Mr. and Mrs. John 8. Duda, Pine
View Avenue, Dallas, will observe
their fiftieth wedding anniversary
on Saturday, November 10 with a
dinner at their home for members
of the family.
Mrs. Duda is the former Susan
Stanislaw of Edwardsville,
The couple was married Novem-
ber 11, 1912, in St. ‘Anthony's
Church, Larksville, by Father
Francis Charney and went to house-
keeping in Edwardsville while Mr.
Duda was employed by the Kings-
ton Coal Company. Later the
Dudas moved to Carverton where
they operated a farm. * In 1943
Mr. Duda retired and the family
moved to the house they now oc-
cupy in Dallas.
There are eleven living children,
John is deceased; Mrs. Frank How-
arch, Swoyersville; Mrs. John Tim-
ko, Carverton; Mrs. John Dobran-
sky, San Diego, California; Mrs.
Emerson Steele, Dallas; Lee, Hamp-
ton, Va.; Victor, Newark, N. J.;
Frank, Hampton, Va.; Jacob, Prince
George, Va.; Andrew, Wayne, Pa.;
Peter and Paul, twins of Dallas;
also twenty-four grandchildren and
three great grandchildren. All the
Duda boys served ‘their country dur-
ing World War IL
Both Mr. and Mrs. Duda are
members of Gate of Heaven Church.
Though Mr. Duda is a semi-invalid,
the couple manages to plant, har-
vest and can a fine vegetable garden
each year, and raise a flock of
chickens,
The anniversary party will be a
particularly happy occasion, for it
will be the first time the entire
family has been together in many
years.

Selects Her Wedding Party
Announcement has been made of
the approaching marriage of Lorelie
Briggs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Briggs, Sweet Valley, to
Richard Bonomo, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Anthony Bonomo, Dallas. Nup-
tials will be performed on November
17, eleven a.m., St. Anthony’s Ro-
man Catholic Chur ch, Memorial
Street, Exeter. :
Miss Briggs has selected as maid
of honor, Mary Ellen Vida. Brides-
maids are the bride-elect’s sister,
Loydene Briggs Wesley, Leah Kliam-
movich, Sharron Farver, and junior
bridesmaid, Charlene Shinder,
Bloomfield, N. J. Anthony Bonomo,
Jr. will act as his brother's best man.

A reception will be held at O’Con-
nell’s Twin Lakes with approximate-
ly one-hundred seventy-five guests.
A variety shower was given in
Miss Briggs’ honor last Friday eve-
ning, at the Andrews’ home, with
Mrs. Robert Walsh and Mrs. Robert
Andrews, Sweet Valley, hostesses.
Gifts were placed under a large dec-

Mr. Bonomo entertained at a large

ski and Mrs. Ambrose Vida. A
personal-shower was given by Loy-
dene - Briggs Wesley and Leah
Kliamovich at the latter's home,
Sylvan Lake. Many lovely gifts were
received at the three showers.

November 5, at 7:30 in St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church. Cub Master Jo

present the opening and Den 5, with
Mrs. Covert as Den Mother, will
have the closing.

pital Woman’s Auxiliary, will meet
Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church, Shavertown, at 1:30 p.m.
for a dessert luncheon.

Maria Angelina, infant daughter

Church in Norfolk, Va. Maria was
born August 28, and has a brother
Bobby and a sister, Juanita. God-
parents were Ronald Wyda and
Mrs. Pauline Hausum. A buffet
supper followed the ceremony.

Harveys Lake Women's Service
Club will welcome five new mem-
bers at its annual Installation din-
ner meeting to be held at the Sports-
man Club tonight, November 1.
Mrs. Edward Wicks, Country Presi-
dent will be special guest speaker.
Mrs. Ord Trumbower will give a
reading and there will be a musical
selection. Dinner will be served
at six p.m.
Final plans were made at the
recent Executive Board Meeting
held at the home of Mrs. Elwood
Whitesell, with Mrs. George Bray
and Mrs, Albert Gulitis assisting
hostesses. Other events of interest
discussed were the Cancer Work
Shop held in Shavertown Tuesday,
and continuation of the “Girl of
