hristmas Bazaar
Annual Christmas Bazaar, held by | kitchen, Mrs.- Edward Gilmer and
the Gate of Heaven Altar and Rosary | Mrs.
Society, will take place Saturday
evening, November 3. In conjunc-
tion with the bazaar will be a chick-
en dinner served with all the trim-
mings from 5 to 8 PM. Reserva-
tions for the dinner should be made
by Saturday, Oct. 27 with Mrs. John
Kupstas or Mrs. Walter Black.
Bazaar will begin at 5 P.M. There
will be a large variety of Booths
featuring many hand made items
and a special Christmas booth. Gifts
for anyone from 1 to 100 will be
available. Home-made baked goods
and candies will be sold. The gen-
eral public is cordially invited.
Rev. Francis Kane is honorary
chairman of the affair, Mrs. George
Arzente will head the committees.

Visited By Missionary
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Higgins, Ran-
som Road had as guest for a week,
Robert Surpless, missionary to Porta
Rico, sponsored by Child Evangelism
Fellowship. He visited the Good
News Clubs in Avoca, West Nanti-
coke, Plymouth, Wilkes-Barre, Lu-
zerne, Courtdale, Elmcrest, Dallas,
Fernbrook, and Lehman. He showed
pictures of his work among the
boys and sirls in Porta Rico.
At each Good News Club weekly
meeting an offering is taken and
sent in its entirety to he mission-
aries for heir work.
