The big ‘All-Star Tournament’
is on again! This weekend at the
Crown Imperial Lanes was a busy
one for Tony Bonomo with ap-
proximately 37 men rolling twelve
games between 9:30 p.m. Saturday
and 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Leading at
the end of this firststring and going
into the final round at Crown next
weekend are the following top ten:
Charles Gelso 2470, Bob Bavitz
2426, Charles Williams 2399, John
Taylor 2355, Buck Roberts 2306,
Ted Szerw 2303, R. Hickman 2302
Charles Hurst 2301, Jack West
2294, Gavigan 2280. There were
some beautiful games rolled and
spectators enjoyed-every minute of
the contest.
At the end of the series next Sun-
day, the top fifteen will go to Jim-
my’s Lanes the following two week-
ends. Good luck, boys!
Weekly high honors go to Steve
Bonomo with 656 series rolled in
Major League Friday and to Don
Bolton, who hit a big 262 game
in Back Mt. Neighborhood League
Thursday. Grace Sickler was tops
for the girls when she toppled 210
in one game for Country League
last Tuesday and Helen Bonomo
starred with the 558 series she piled
up in Imperialettes League Friday.
Don’s big-game broke the record
set by Nick Stredny several weeks
agq, but Nick’s high 669 series is
still on top. Evelyn Roberts still
holds top game of 217 but Helen
Bonomo’s beautiful series knocked
out Ginger Gosart’s 544.
MAJOR LEAGUE
Steve Bonomo broke Major Lea-
gue record set this season by Nick
Buynak when he toppled 656 pins
Friday with Parry’s Gulf team as
they split 2-2 with Dallas Dairy.
His big series included 235-234

rolling 162-161(460); Lila Lozo
182(462).
Joe’s Pizza took 3 from Caster-
line’s Service Station. Carol Had-
sel rolled 169(465)and Liz Weale

168. Mary Dimmick rolled 164
(480); Evelyn Kamont had 175
(475); Evelyn Roberts, 170(465).
Chase Dairy went on record with
2277 total pins and one game of
786.

The boys took total pins by 3.
Ashley Lanes lost 3to Sportsmen
Bar. Qur boys lost second game by
3 pins. Whew!
Sid Fielding won honors with
214-235(637); Buck Roberts hit a
214(581); Tom Cross 192(568)
and Ron Fielding 199(551). Good
for you, Buck! Keep ’em falling!
Castellani and Bruno was the vic-
tor over Weaver and Madar asthe
two home teams met.
Nick Stredny led C & B with a
234 (595); Dan Richards rolled a
202-207(559) and Fred Adams, a
198(551).
Sportsman Bar A and Stegmaier
Lads are tied in first with 11 points
and Burke’s Bar B-Q shares second
with Kocher’s Boys, 10 each. With
9 each, are Sportsman Bar M, Top
Shelf Ladies and Stegmaier Las-
sies.
IMPERIALETTES
MacTools and Delaney Gas had
two close games Friday night as
each team battled for a few extra
points up until the last frame. In
the first game, Delaney took over
the winning point with 772 pins, 1
over Mac; second game was notas
close and everyone relaxed a bit.
Not for long . . . it looked like the
game would go to Mac, but after
the last pin fell, Delaney had it, by
1 pin!
Helen Bonomo was top scorer,
leading Mac’s with 189-189-180
(558). That would have beensome
triplicate! Gloria Grant hit 187-165
(501). Doris Mallin did a switch,
from 312 one week to top Delaney’s
scores with 512(191-162). Evelyn
Kamont had 169-161(479).
Doris King earned a patch when
she rolled an all-spare game of 164
for Joe’s Men Shop. Jean Law hit
160 as Joe’s took all 4 from Gar-
rity. Carol Hadsel rolled 188 for
Garrity.
Elston and O’Malia split 2-2.
Anita Pascavage led the ‘‘launder-
ers” with 160-176(487); Gladys
Gabel hit 168(463). For Elston’s,
it was Dellas Bellas, 184(486); Lil-
lian had 167.
Apex totalled 2193 pins asittook
3 from Goodman. Doris Amos led
the victors with 167-167(468);
