Candlelight Services Highlight Weekend \ Following the new Pen-Can High- way, members of the Dallas Metho- dist MYF arrived at Sky Lake Sat- urday morning at 10:30, for a week- end of recreation, spiritual guidance and rest in beautiful surroundings. Boating, swimming, soft-ball and square ‘dancing were offered. Highlights of the spiritual aspect of the weekend were the Galilean service, candle-light service, and Holy Communion. Candlelight services were especial- ly impressive, with a cross of can- dles ablaze and tiny candles afloat on the dark water in eggshells. This service was led by Kenneth Young. Sunday School lesson was taught by Bud Nelson. Rev. Russell Lawry conducted the Communion Service. Requiem Mass Monday For Edward Navroth Edward Navroth, for twelve years resident of Lake Silkworth after moving there from his native Nanti- coke, died Thursday afterncon at Nesbitt Hospital. Services Monday morning from the Bronson Funeral Home were followed by a mass of requiem celebrated by Rev. Banas at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nanticoke. For 42 years, Mr Navroth was em- ployed by Susquehanna Colliery. The ambilanes halted in front of Dr. H.G. Gallagher's office on Lake Street, when it became apparent to crewmembers Ray Titus and James Besecker that the patient was dying. Dr. Gallagher pronounced Mrs. Czar- necki dead, -and Rev. Francis A. Kane was summoned to administer final rites of the Church. Burial was at Mt. Olivet Monday morning, following services from the Disque Funeral Home and a mass of requiem at Gate of Heaven Church. Mrs. Czarnecki, resident of Dallas for the past eighteen years, had been employed at Natona since 1950, starting her work in the thread draw- ing department. She had been in apparent ' good health when going to work at 8 am, shortly before suffering the fatal heart attack. Her family said she had been under care of a physician for some time. She was a native of Miners Mills, daughter of John and Mary Ulawski, who now live at Glenside, California. Norman Was In Nine Major Invasions John M. Norman, 37, resident of Upper Demunds Road for the past year, died Tuesday morning at Veterans Hospital, following a long illness. He will be buried this afternoon in Oak Lawn Cemetery, following services conducted by Rev. Adam S. Tannous from the Merritt Hughes Funeral Home. ; A native of Ashley, son of Daisy Scott Norman and the late Thomas Norman, he lived in the Rolling Mills section of Wilkes-Barre until moving to Dallas Township. He was an’ employee of the Henry Steg- mueller Construction Company un- til he became unable to work. A veteran of World War II, he served with the U. S. The boys are looking for any gallon or half gal- lon jugs for the drive. If you have any jugs you would like to get rid of, call the Key Club member living nearest you and he will pick them up. People who wish to have cider would do well to call in their order early. Last year over a hundred orders could not be filled because of late requests.
