ZION It was a delight to see Mr. Mrs. Kenneth Jenkins and little girl visiting and attending church at Mt. Zion. Mrs. Jenkins was the former Mary Jane Thomas. Paul and Myrtle Smith were back for a visit. Myrtle says she enjoys reading the Dallas Post all about everything going on. Says she likes this Mt. Zion column. Mr. and Mrs. Orval Cain, Easton, formerly Orange, dropped by for a ¢hat. Don’t know whether I've seen them inside of twenty years and ‘or not. Our girls’ quartet sang on Sundays Sharon Le&Bar, Nadine VanTuyle, Busan LaBar, Karen Hronich, at Mt. Zion church. Then in the after- noon the girls went with our fam- ily over to Valley Crest. It fell to me to pinch-hit for a church that vice and it was good to have some singers to help out. Dorothy played the organ. Ruth and Catherine and the girls helped with the wheel chairs. Richard Davis, Trucksville, a mem- ber of the Navy Band in Washing- ton D. C. sang The Lord is My Shepherd at, Mt. Zion church Sun- day. Although a baritone, Dick sang some high notes that made me think he was a tenor! He used to sing in the Oratorio chorus before he went into the service. It was a beautiful solo. There was an infant baptism at the service. Cynthia Lee Sharp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Sharp was the little lady. Her mother is the former Noreen Van- Tuyle. There were relatives of both sides of the house on hand. Mr. and Mrs. James Sharp, David and side beside Leon and Mildred (baby’s grandparents) there was Mrs, Minnie VanTuyle, and Nadeen VanTuyle the baby’s: aunt, and Glenn VanTyle the youthful uncle! Baby Cynthia smiled over Daddy’s shoulder at the whole crowd. We've been back and forth to Nesbitt Hospital this past week. Dorothy was a surgical patient for a few days. OUR ROAD It's getting along. The fine gra- vel extends -now quite a ways down the road. Mrs. Clara Gonser began work as a nursing assistant at Valley Crest this week. I am sure she will be well received by the patients and the staff. ‘While calling on Dottie at Nesbitt I found Bud Perry of Mt. Zion a patient with slivers of aluminum in | |a variety program at Valley Crest. | | They were delighted when I told | them they would be expected to! Frank Wagner, Jr. “Thats just what | wheel the wheel chair patients to the auditorium, we wanted to do’, exclaimed Elfrie- da Hefft. Jack Scoble acted as master of ceremonies and one of the patients told. me afterward, “That man gave an awful good talk!’ Elfrieda Hefft sang, Donna Rischel did some twirling. Chuck Johns and Carol Sutton played organ and duet. Chuck played the flute and his friend Bob Kundreskas of Kingston the Clarinet. Others who went were Earl Wall, David Lar- mouth and Lynn McCarty. I talked with the patients the next day and they expressed themselves as much pleased with the whole performance and I was proud to tell the patients that most of them were in my she Wak again with the wheel] chairs. Is Deputy Constable Frank Wagner, Jr., Dallas Town- ship police officer, was appointed Deputy Constable in an order signed September 5 by Judge Frank Pinola. Wagner, 28, is employed by Coca Cola Bottling Company as a sales- : | man-driver, His father is Constable, iano | and is also a police officer. Mrs. Wagner is the former Sally Lasher, daughter of Reuel Lasher, Demunds Road, Dallas. They have three sons, Billy, 5%, Bobby 3% and Barry, 3% months. A member of George M. Dallas Lodge, Frank passes leisure time hunting and fishing. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENTS Two students from the area are among the 675 freshmen enrolled at Bucknell University. Robert G.
