The church has been without a rector since midwinter, when Rev. William McClelland accepted an in- vitation to become the rector of a church in suburban Atlanta, Georgia. For several months Rev. Their church and school were taken away and the people were no longer able to think or do as they wished. Rev. Romero is Chap- lain for the Mexicans and Puerto Ricans of this area, and is doing a wonderful job. They are very happy to be here and explain “we can help the migrant workers with prayers and understanding.” The Loves, who are Sunday School teachers in Dallas Methodist Church, invited the Romeros, along with some other yisitors, to put on a little program for the Sunday School Department on Sunday. The day starts at 8, with break- fast, instruments and songs. Chil- dren, divided into groups, are taught geography, art and arithmetic. They also have play-time, lunch and other activities, and are finished at 5. There are approximately twenty- four children enrolled in this par- ticular center. Olver, Superin- tendent of New York Conference, Free Methodist Church, was hon- ored at a surprise reception Thurs- day night at Trucksville Fire Hall, when representatives from all four Free - Methodist churches of this area, Truckgville, Dallas, Outlet and Bowmans (Creek, gathered to ex- press their regard for him, and their delight that he is back in the community as a resident of Dallas. Rev. Olver was given a purse made up by the four congregations. Rev. Ralph C. Smith, pastor of Dallas Free Methodist Church, was master of ceremonies. To Mrs. Frank Mathers went the honor of presenting the gift. Since August, Rev. Olver and his family have been living in the Con- ference parsonage on Davenport Street. Of the five children, Miriam is a senior at Roberts Wesleyan at Chili, Melvin, a freshman, Howard, Luella and Paul attend Dallas schools. Rev. Olver was district superin- tendent for some years before be- coming Conference superintendent. He succeeds Rev. Paul Hosier, who is mow pastor of Bowmans Creek Free Methodist. Tenure as district superintendent or conference super- intendent is limited by rules of the church. Elections are held each year- Mrs. Olver, the former Grace Lindsley, was brought up in a ministerial family. Her father, Rev. A. K. Lindsley, was pastor of Dal- las Free Methodist Church at one time, also superintendent of the Wilkes-Barre District. Rev. Olver’s first pastorate was at Trucksville. Reese, 55, resident of Trucksville for the past fifteen years, died Monday morning at Nes- bitt Hospital following a prolonged illness. He was buried yesterday at Memorial Shrine, following serv- ices conducted by Rev. Robert Ger- mond, pastor of Trucksville Metho- dist Church. A native of Luzerne, son of the late Harry S. and Maria Pace Reese, he spent most of his life in Wilkes- Barre, where for sixteen years he was custodian at the Deposit and Savings Bank. More recently, for nine years he was employed at Kir- by Health Center. Several months ago he retired because of ill health. He belonged to Trucksville Methodist Church and its Men's Club; Trucksville Volunteer Fire Department, and Landmark Lodge F&AM. Surviving are: his widow, the for- mer Elizabeth Tingley; two daugh- ters: Mrs. James R. Turner, Moun- tainside, N. J.; Mrs. J.
