Mrs. Roland Gensel, president of
|Firemen's Auxiliary requests that all
| members report at ‘the Fire Hall
September 10 when a general clean-
ing will be conducted. Lunch will
be provided. The regular meeting
will be held Wednesday, September
12 at 8.
Mrs. Mary Billow, Chase Manor,
has returned after visiting with
friends and relatives in Hustontown,
her birthplace.
The boys from Jackson defeated
their fathers in a ball game at Chase
Corners, Friday evening, 6 to 3. Joe
Witek was the winning pitcher and
Old Man Gerald Shonk, was the
pitcher for the losers.
Mr. and Mrs. John Fronczkiewicz,
Towanda, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Voitek and daughters, Marguerite,
Eileen and Barbara, York, spent the
weekend with Mrs. Billow, mother
of Mrs. and Mrs.

ball team copped the top honors
when they won the game on Sat-
urday with Lake-Lehman, 11 to 6.

Stefan Hellersperk, for eight years
an important cog in Civil Defense
work in the Back Mountain area,
has resigned from all Civil Defense
activities.

Graduate Degree
Three local men received graduate
degrees from [Pennsylvania State
University at commencement ex-
ercises at University Park Saturday.
Charles E. Skopic, R.D. 4 Dallas,
was awarded a Master of Arts de-
gree in. economics. Robert Suther-
land, Dallas R.D., received a Master
of Education degree in secondary
education. \
James C. Goodwin, 124 Harris
Hill Road, Trucksville, was con-
ferred a Master of Education degree
in History.
The awarding of 816 degrees, 403
of which were advanced degrees,
marked the end of the Summer
Term at the university.
