Memorial Highway left Thursday
morning for New York. City from
where they embarked on the Ocean
Monarch for a week’s cruise to Ber-
muda and Nassau.

To Serve In Germany
Sgt. Donald Johnson, who has
been stationed with the US Airforce
in Virginia, wil go to Germany the
latter part of September where he
will be stationed two years.

daughters, Cheryl and Mary Jean,

more, over the Labor Day week

Jacqueline Johnson of Berwyn
spent a week with her uncle and
aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Johnson.
She returned to Berwyn with her
parents last week end.
Mrs. Marcy H. Kerchner has been
named a full time substitute teach-
er to serve in Dallas Senior High
School for the coming year.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph K. Hoitsma
of Washington, D. C. and their sons,
Derrik Hoitsma of Brooklyn, N. Y.
and Kinmont Hoitsma of San Fran-
cisco, Calif. are visiting Mr. Hoits-
ma’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr.

Mrs. Gertrude Nulton and grand-
daughter, Dora Montgomery, of
Wenalche, Washington spent a week
end recently with Mrs. Mae Con-
way. While here they attended
the reunion of the Taylor family at
Wolfe's Grove, where they met
many friends from the Back Moun-
tain, This is the first time in fifty
six years Mrs. Nulton and Mrs. Con-
way have seen each other.
Visits Cape Canaveral
Mrs. John Welker and family,
Highland Avenue, spent a few days
at Cape Canaveral, Fla. where they
saw rockets being shot into the air.
En route home they visited friends
in West Palm Beach, Jacksonville,
and Atlanta,
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cook, Ridge
Street, recently visited his brother
and sister-in-law, Mr. and, Mrs.
Thomas Cook in Harrisburg. While
there they visited’ Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel Reese. Mr. Reese, a for-
mer resident of Carverton Road, is
manager of a restaurant at the
Harrisburg-York State Airport.
Mr. and Mrs. George Armstrong
and = children, (Clearview ‘Avenue,
will spend the Labor Day week end
with Mr. and Mrs. John Alton and
family in Williamsburg, Va.
Sp4 John Roushey has returned
after two. weeks of training with
the armed forces at Camp Picket,
Va.
Joan Fielding is a member of this
year's Freshmen Class at the Nes-
bitt Hospital School of nursing.
