moved into their new home. They

The Warren Johnsons are enroute
home from Los Angeles where they
attended the Rural Mail Carriers’
Convention.
Mrs. Lee Malkemes and son,
Ricky, are spending sometime at
Bainbridge, Md., where Mr. Mal-
kemes is on duty with the U.S.
Navy.
The Robert Dymonds of Arlington,
Va. vacationed with Bob’s parents,
the Elmer Dymonds, last week.
Ocean Grove, N. J. was the vaca-
tion spot which was enjoyed by Mrs.
Madeline LaBarre and her two chil-
dren recently.
Mrs. Peter Traver remains very
ill at her Evans Falls home.

Twenty More Folders Sold
For Benefit Of Auction
Twenty more folders of the line-
drawings of Back Mountain scenes
which two years ago were offered
for sale in the art booth as a sou-
venir of the Back Mountain
morial Library Auction, were sold
Saturday morning, to a woman who
drove up from Athens, Georgia, to
visit her sister, Mrs. (Charles James.
Mrs Robert A Lumley, finishing
requirements for her Masters De-
gree at Athens, gave as one of her
required talks in the course in edu-
cation, a dissertation on the Library
Auction, saying that it was a bit
of Americana that merited, and
received, widespread interest, an an-
nual event noted all over the coun-
try.
Mrs. Lumley, the former Blanche
Caswell, sister of Hannah Caswell
James, had with her children Mary
Frances and Gwendolyn, plus the
family dog (Chester. Joining the
family for breakfast on Jackson
Street Thursday morning were
M/Sgt. and Mrs. Ward Wheeler,
with Cynthia and William, from
Glen Burnie, Md.; Dr. and Mrs.
Cyril Scott and Audrey, from Kala-
mazoo, Michigan; Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Calvert, with Billy, Tommy and Bet-
ty Ann, travelling with the Wheelers
from Glen Burnie. Some of the neigh-
borhood children, lured by the

Will Open Antique
Shop On Monday
Francis Schriber, well known in
the field of decorating, will open
an antique shop on Monday at the
corner of Overbrook and Ferguson
Avenues. The Stonegate is identi-
fied by a distinctive sign.
Schriber free-lances in New York,
where he has arranged window dis-
plays for I. Miller Shoes and Sher-
ril-Wagner, and has executed ballet
sets for several companies, including
the Boston Ballet. For five years
he has arranged settings for Wilkes-
Barre Ballet Guild productions.
Finnian’s Rainbow setting for the
Little Theatre some years ago was
one of his first important stage sets.
He has been working with Better
House, coordinating wallpaper,
woodwork and decor.
He advises antique furniture for
young couples planning their homes,
for several reasons: Chairs are funct-
ional, they are sturdy, they go with
everything, and they are reasonable
dropped by for a bite.
All in all, reports Mrs. James, it
was quite a gang. {

Dog Man Strikes
Thomas E. Marshall, Agent for
Bureau of Animal Industry, made
eight arrests in Jackson and Leh-
man Townships, Wednesday, August
8, for failure of owners to have
1962 dog licenses. He was accom-
pained by Edward Godoski, Game
Warden.
Recently Marshall made similar
arrests in Dallas and Kingston
Townships, but has made none in
Dallas Borough.
He will return to this area in the
near future to make more drives.
