Mr. and Mrs. Fred Strum, High-
bridge, N. J., were weekend guests

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hosler, Par-
rish Street, spent the weekend in
. Penryn, Lancaster County, where
Mr. Hosler’s aunt is in the Lancaster
General Hospital for tests.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Davis and
family ‘of Dallas returned after
spending some time in Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Welch, Dav-
enport Street, returned after spend-
ing some time in Florida.
The School of Missions, Wyoming
Conference, at Keystone College, in
LaPlume, is in session this week.
Three members of the Dallas Meth-
odist Church are among the 218 power Mill. She has resided in Dal-
enrolled. Mrs. Charles Hosler is
studying “The Christian Mission on
the Rim of East Asia,” Mrs. Sylvia
Kuhnert is resuming her course on
“Prayer,” . "Mrs. Maude Baker is
studying “Responsible Adults for
Tomorrow's World.”
‘Gloria Mock, Tunkhannock, spent
the week with her grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Darl Moore, Jackson
Street.
Regular meeting of Daddow-Isaacs

held at the Post Home August 10
at 8 p. m. Final plans will be made
for Americanism Night which will be
held in September and installation
of officers will be held in October.

family have moved from Brooklyn,
N: Y., to Davenport Street, where
Rev. Olver is District Superintend-
ent of the Free Methodist Church,
replacing Rev. Paul Hosier, who re-

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Noon and
grandson, Johnny, Dallas, recently
spent some time in Atlantic City.
Mrs. Arthur Miller, Huntsville
Road, has returned to her home
after being a patient at the Nesbitt
Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Steven Sedler,
Craig, Carol and Sandy, former
Dallas residents, now residing in
andallstown, Md., are spending
me time with friends and relatives
in Dallas.
Mrs. Laura Scotsdale, Arizona,
recently visited Ralph Newcomb,
who is her brother, at the home of
his daughter, Mrs. Donald Pagelow,
Parrish Street. This is the first
Mrs. Green and Mr. Newcomb have
seen each other in nine years. Mrs.
Green flew to New York by jet.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jones and chil-
dren, David, Debbie, Linda and
Laura, of Powderhorn Estates, visit-
ed Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Chandler of
Pegwannock, N. J. They also visit-
ed Asbury Park, where they cele-
brated David's birthday.

Eighty-Two Wednesday
MRS. C. ROSCOE LEE
Mrs. C. Roscoe Lee, affectionately
known as “Aunt Marg” celebrated
her eighty second birthday anni-
versary yesterday with cocktails at
home and a family dinner at Irem
Temple Country Club.
Aunt Marg, widow of the late C.
Roscoe Lee, food broker of Butler
Street, Kingston, is the former Mar-
jorie Scott of Wapwallopen where
her father was head of the Dupont
las for over twenty years, first on
Lake Street, now on Terrace Street.
She spends her winters in Fort
Lauderdale at her son, Jack’s apart-
ment house.
Jack, who entertained for her, is
her only living child. Another son,
Bill died at the age of sixteen, 1933,
at the family summer home at Lake
Carey.
She is devoted to her niece, Lettie
Lee Culver and her nephew, Peyn-
ton and families.

Jo Ann Denice Culver
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Culver,
Bloomingdale, announce the birth
of a daughter, Jo Ann Denice, July
28, at General Hospital. The new
arrival weighed eight pounds, five
ounces at birth. [There are two
other children, Larry 10, and Dean
8. Mrs. Culver is the former Dilys
Hunter. Mr. and Mrs Culver own
a dairy farm at Bloomingdale.
Loomis In Hospital
Denton Loomis, a former Noxen
tannery worker of Tunkhannock R.
D. 5, is in the hospital at Tampa,
Florida. He would appreciate cards
from his friends up North. His
condition is not good. His address
is Centro Asturiano Hospital, 13th
Street and 21st Avenue, Tampa.

and Mrs. Stephen Kale at Harveys
Lake.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Law, Jack-
son Street, announce the birth of a
daughter, August 7, at Wyoming
Valley Hospital. This is their sec-
ond daughter.
Elinor Dendler, Wellington Ave-
nue, Dallas, had as guests recently
her son, Albert, Schenectedy, her
sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Mike Ocelka, Binghamton, her
brother SFC Carl Pogar and family,
Fort Mead, Md., and her sister-in
law and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Row-
land Lilly of Bristol.
Durelle Scott 3rd and Jim Case,
Dallas, spent the early part of last
week in New York City visiting Joe
Peterson.
Ann Peterson returned to her
home on Norton Avenue Monday af-
ter spending the early part of the
summer in Montreal, the Maritime
Provinces and Prince Edward Island
where she was guest of her aunt. She
picked up her cousin, Karen Gailfoile
at Springfield, Mass.,, and brought
her to Dallas for a wisit.
Anthony Hudaks Are
Wed Seventeen Years
Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Hudak,
Overbrook Avenue, will celebrate
their seventeenth wedding anniver-
sary on- Saturday.
Mrs. Hudak is the former Kath-
erine Elenchik of Jackson Township.
The couple has four daughters,
Katherine and Carol, who will
enter Tenth Grade at Dallas Senior
High School this fall; Therese, who
will enter Seventh Grade at Gate
of Heaven School, and Geralyn, the
youngest, who is still at home.
John Girvans Are Hosts
At Family Reunion
Mr. and Mrs. John Girvan, Lake
Street, entertained for the past two
weeks their daughter and son-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lewis of
Phoenix, Arizona, and their daugh-
ter, Mrs. Donald McVey of West
New York, N. J. Mr. and Mrs. Ben
Ryan, Ramsey, N. J. also spent
several days, as did Mrs. David Gir-
van of Nanticoke.
Mr. and Mrs. William Girvan and
famifly of Allandale, N. J. stopped off
for the night on their way back from
Niagara Falls.
Mrs. Girvan. accompanied the
Lewises to Long Island where they
boarded an American Airlines jet
back to Phoenix. Mrs. Girvan’s son
William and her grandson, Richard
Ryan drove her back home.
What a lovely family reunion!
Krouses Have Daughter
Captain and Mrs. John Krouse,
Fort Rucker, Ala., announce the
birth of a baby girl on August 3.
Their son, Jackie has been staying
with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Boote, Knob Hill, Trucks-
ville, for the past month.
Thursday, Grandma Boote and
Jackie flew to Alabama to see the
new baby.
The Krouses expect to be trans-
ferred to Colorado later this month.

Has 4th Birthday Party
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Borzone, De-
munds Road, entertained on their
daughter, Mary Louise’s 4th birth-
day, Friday, August 3rd.
A large decorated cake and other
sefreshments were served to Neal
and Bobby McDonald, Joan, Bar-
bara, Judy and Buddy Reese; Nick
and Timmy Susaraba; Nancy Love,
Leon Sidorek; Jimmy Hunter; Ted-
dy Sod; Debbie and Beverly Pugh,
the guest of honor and her parents.

Mr. and Mrs. James A. Peters,
Harveys Lake, announce the birth
of their first = child, a daughter,
Patricia Gale, at General Hospital
July 28. Her weight was 7%
pounds.
Mrs. Peters is the former Marla
J. Dawn, daughter of Mrs. N. Gayle
Gitterman, Hollywood, Cal. Mr.
Peters, a native of Summit, N. J.,
was transferred here as district
representative of Lone Star Cement
Company.
Mrs. Peters’ step-father is man-
aging director of Desilu (Studios in
Hollywood.
Beth Ann Wiglesworth
Mrs. Robert Wiglesworth, the for-
mer Betty Jackson, Franklin Street,
now of Texas, gave birth to an eight
pound, seven ounce daughter, Beth
Ann, July 24th. Mr. Wiglesworth,
who is with the Army, will transfer
from Texas to California, this month
and his wife and children will join
him in October. They have two
other children, Linda and Brian.
Betty formerly made her home with
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Haring, and was
receptionist for Dr. Bodycomb.

Has Third Birthday
Deborah Ann Withey, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John O. Withey, Pine-
crest Ave. was guest at a picnic
party at the home of her parents on
her third birthday. Present were

The bride is a graduate of Dallas
Township High School and Wilkes
College. She was employed as
stewardess supervisor for Eastern
Airlines at the New York Base. The
bridegroom attended Tulane Uni-
| versity, New Orleans, and was a
| member of Delta Kappa Epsilon.
He is representative of the Douglas
Guardian Warehouse Leasing Cor-
poration, New Orleans.
Dr. Jay A. Young
To Marry Bugust 15
Announcement has been made of
the approaching marriage of Dr. Jay
Young, Norton Avenue, head of the
chemistry department of Kings Col-
lege, to Mrs. Mary Ann Treacy,
South Bend, Indiana, at Notre Dame
on August 15.
Mrs. Treacy is the widow of Dr.
Young's best friend, John Treacy, a
chemist who was killed in a chemi-
cal explosion seven years ago.
‘She has two sons, John 8, Michael
| 7, and two daughters, Kathleen 8
and Eileen 9.
Dr. Young's first wife suddenly
died some time ago leaving him with
twelve motherless children.
Mrs. Treacy and her children re-
cently visited here in company
with Dr. Young's cousin, Miss Cath-
erine Kiser of Hammond, Indi

This week Lehman 4-H held its
5th meeting with Ruth Adamshick,
Beverly Bonning, Judy Stortz, Linda
Connor, Linda and Debbie McKeel,
Joy Johnson, Diana Rogers, Corey
Conklin, Shirley and Peggy Disque,
Linda Lewis, and leaders Mrs. Sid-
ler and Mrs. McKeel, present.
Ruth Adamshick had a show, and
made fudge. The 4-H made wal-
nut penuchi, peanut brittle, and
strawberry lemonade. Their trip to
Bloomsburg on August 17 was dis-
cussed.
MARTIN REUNION
The annual Martin reunion will
be held at Charles Martin's ‘Sunny
Acres Grove’, Aug. 12. Harry Mar-
tin Sr. will preside at the business
| meeting. Roy McCullough will have
| charge of games and program.
