Evangelist Rev. Glenn William-
son, assistant to the general secre-
tary of Evangelism of the [Free
Methodist Church of North America
will be present throughout the
meeting, as will Rev. George Haw-
thorne from Ohio with his piano
accordion and his gospel songs.
Missionary from China (Carolyn
Winslow will speak this Sunday at
2:30.

Angler Dies As He
Fishes Along Shore
Victim of ‘a sudden fatal heart
attack while fishing along the shore
at Lake Catalpa, Charles R. Howell,
69, Shavertown, was found dead
‘Wednesday morning shortly before
noon. Discovery was made by a
fellow-angler, Kenneth Thomas of
Kunkle.
He was buried Saturday after-
noon in Evergreen Cemetery, Rev.
Robert D. Yost officiating.
Reaching retirement age four
years ago, Mr. Howell had worked
at Berwick Car and Foundry, and
Sheldon Axle Works.
A native of Wilkes-Barre, he
moved to Shavertown 39 years ago.
He was a member of Shavertown
Methodist Church, and of Junior
OUAM of Wilkes-Barre.
He is survived by his widow, the
former Ellen Pheby of Wilkes-Barre;
and a daughter, Ruth Ellen, at home.
School.
The day starts early, with rising |
bell at 6:30, and each hour of the!
day scheduled. Lights are out at |
11. Visitors are expected to attend |
the main services.
On the closing day at 2:30, out-
standing lay leader Francis German
will speak..

Former Pastor Lies In
State At Bowman's Creek
Rev. W. Albert Decker, former
pastor of Bowman's Creek Free
Methodist Church, lay in state on
Tuesday in the church where he
had spent years of his life, and had
retained membership after retiring
and moving to Tunkhannock. He
died at his home Saturday morning
after suffering a heart attack.
He was buried at Sunnyside,. fol-
lowing services held at the church
by Pastor Howard Deats, assisted
by Rev. Laverne Chute, Tunkhan-
nock.
Rev. Decker, born in Bardwell,
near Tunkhannock, was son of the
late John and Martha Newman
Decker. His 74th birthday was ob-
served June 21.
Surviving are his daughter, Miss
Keipha Decker, Stroudsburg; two
sons, Kenneth, Tunkhannoc, and
William, Jr., Laceyville; five grand-
children; a sister, Edith Montross,
Tunkhannock. His wife, the for-
mer Ruth Evans, died seven years
ago.

my husband and our Dad. We wish
to thank Mr. Bronson, the girls who
sang; the pallbearers; the military;
personnel; all who offered cars; those
who provided food for the home and
the meal following the service.
The women who worked during the
heat of the day to provide an attract-
ivemeal; firemen for the use of the
fire-hall; all those who served on the
clean-up detail.
The community for its liberal con-
tributions; Mrs. Goodman for the
beautiful floral work.
And all others who assisted in any
way during our sad hours.

Sudden Heart Attack
Fatal To Minister
Rev. Benjamin B. Rickenbach, Jr.,
beloved pastor of Pilgrim Holiness
Church in Tunkhannock 8ied at 44
in the prime of life, suffering a
fatal heart attack Thursday morn-
ing. \
He was buried Monday afternoon,
being taken from the Nulton Funeral
Home to lie in state in. his own
church.
Residents of Beaumont drew a
parallel between his untimely death
and that of another beloved min-
ister of the region, George Sayre
of the Seventh Day Adventist
Church who died some time ago.
The area can ill spare two such ded-
icated men.
Rev. Rickenbach, a native of New
Jersey, guided his church for the
past fourteen years. His father,
Rev. Rickenbach, and his brother,
Charles, are also ministers.
He leaves his wife, the former
Octavia Bickford; his parents; a son
David; two daughters, Nancy and
Mary; three brothers; four sisters.

Frank Castner Buried
At Maple Grove
Frank Castner, #61, Larksville,
was buried at Maple Grove Tues-
day afternoon, following services
conducted by Rev. Stanley Shipey
from the family home. Mr, Castner
died Saturday night at General Hos-
pital, where he had been a patient
for six weeks, passing away on his
34th wedding anniversary.
