birthday at the home of Mr. and Mrs.

Mr, an Mrs, Kenneth Bowman and
infant son, Kenny, Wilmington, Del.
recently spent several days with Mrs.

Farver. Mr. Farver remains a patient
at Nesbitt Hospital.

Mrs, Buckalew is ill at her home. Mr,
Bunkalew has been in ill health since
returning from Flordia.
Mrs. Arden Oliver and children,
Arden, Jr., Brent and Dennis are
spending a month at their North
Lake home.
Mr. and Mrs. Clem C. Rogers, Ply-
mouth, have moved into their sum-
mer home at North Lake.Both Mr.
and Mrs. Rogers devote much of each
summer to teaching the area children
water skiing.
The family of Mr. and Mrs. Guy
Zerfoss, Sr, gathered to honor Mr.
Zerfoss on Father's Day. Attending

has returned after being a medical
patient at Nesbitt Hospital.
Mrs. Nettie Post, who sustained a
fractured arm when she well at her
home, is a patient at Nesbitt Me-
morial Hospital,

children, Victor and Sue, German-
town, Md., spent last weekend with
Mrs. Swire’s parents Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Burkhardt.

Walter Zimmerman Has
Fatal Heart Attack
Walter Zimmerman, 75, Pittsfield,
Mass., admitted [Sunday morning to
Nesbitt Hospital after suffering a
heart attack, died there a few hours
later.
Services are scheduled for this
afternoon at 2 from the Bronson
Funeral Home, Rev. Oscar Saxe offi-
ciating. Burial will be in Marvin
Cemetery.
Mr. Zimmerman, a native of
Watertown, spent most of his life in
Luzerne County. He was last em-
ployed at Stroudsburg as a plant
guard.
He leaves his widow, Pearl; a
daughter, Mrs, Mabel Lasch, Pitts-
field, a son, Major J, K. Zimmerman,
Hickman Air Base, Honolulu.
Charles Race Buried
In Marsh Cemetery
Charles Race, 69, Center Moreland
dairy farmer, died Wednesday after-
noon at Nesbitt Hospital. He was
buried Saturday afternoon in Marsh
cemetery, following services per-
formedby Rev. Truman Reeves from
the Nulton Funeral Home.
A native of Vernon, he was the
son of the late Charles and Jennie
Fox Race. He was a member of Cen-
ter Moreland Baptist Church.
He is survived by his ‘widow, the
former Ida Cooke; nine sons: Charles
E. Nuangola; Dana, Dallas RD 1; Rev.
Olin Race, pastor of Bethel Baptist
Church, Scranton; Melvin, Benton
RD4; Walter O., Apalachin, N.Y;
Daniel, with the Army in Germany;
Samuel A., Newark Valley, N.Y.;
George I., and Jacob, at home; 10
grandchildren; a brother, Ernest of
Vernon.
‘Damages Awarded
Mr. and Mrs. William Belles, East
Dallas, were awarded damages of
$5,000 in the highway death Feb-
ruary 10 of their 10-year old son
William Jr. Judge Bernard C. Bro-
minski approved. Defendants were
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mekell, whose
car hit the child when his sled hurt-
led out of his own yard into its path.

Elder John H. Wirth of San Diego

Jesus Christ of Latter-Day [Saints
in this area, following transfer of.
Elder M. Vern Davis to Summit, N.J.
Elder Wirth comes from San Die-
go. Prior to becoming interested in
missionary work for the church to
which his mother has always belong-
ed, he worked as a deep-sea fisher-
man off the Pacific Coast in quest of
albacore, and in the construction
business.

fer his credits to a University, per-
haps Brigham Young, and complete
his education. Elder Wirth expects to
go to college upon completion of his
requirred two years in the mission
field. Elder Davis will also complete
his ‘university education.
Right now, these two young men
would like to move from Kingston
to the Back Mountain. They are look-
ing for a very small apartment, or
perhaps two rooms with kitchen pri-
vileges.They promise to be neat.
They're out most of the day and eve-
ning, coming back only to eat and
sleep. See the Trading Post.
Baby Dies
Daniel © Anthony Sigworth 4th,
seven months old, Dallas R. D. 3,
was pronounced dead on Saturday,
June 23 at 4:30 p. m. by Stephen
M. Glova, Deputy Coroner of Kunkle
Road. Death was due to suffoca-
tion.
