Bowling League, and their families
were weekend guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Mannear at their sum-
mer home, in South Montrose. In the
group were: Captain and Mrs. “Bill”
Rood, Peggy, Pam and Pat, Mr. and
Mrs. Bert Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Thomas, Bobby and Jo Ann, Mr. and
Mrs. Faye Hopkins and Bruce, Mr.
and Mrs. Wilbur Davis, Jim Ricky,
Tom Heslop, Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Fritzges, David, Gerald, Larry Bonnie
and twins Diane and Donald, Billie
Kingsburg, Johnny and Charlene
Mannear, and the host and hostess.
Saturday afternoon, the mothers
and daughters attended an auction
at Camptown, where they made sev-
eral purchases, and in the evening
the fathers and sons motored to
Five Mile Point, N.Y. to see the
stock car races.

A covered dish supper was served
Saturday and a cook-out Sunday
| was climaxed with a Softball game
| between the fathers and sons.
The young people enjoyed a full
| hay mow and three lovely riding
horses.
Irem Women Golfers
Mrs. George Dean made a clean
| sweep of the weekly women's golf
events at Irem Temple Country Club
| Friday by winning the “Flag Tour-
!nament” and the Putt: ng Prize.
A “Member Member” Tourna-
ment will be played this Friday:

liam Chauncey, owner of CBS net-
work in Phoenix, as man of the
year. There were many CBS no-
tables among the speakers. Douglas
Edwards was MC for the proceed-
ings. Other celebrities were Mr.
and Mrs. Alan Young and Mr. and
Mrs. Gene Autry, Mrs. Rice had the
pleasure of meeting Alan Young,
star of ‘Mr. Ed’ series.
She left Phoenix by jet and was
met at Idlewild Airport by her
daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Robins of Edison, N. J. She
‘spent a few weeks with them.
Upon ker arrival home, she was
asked where she would like to live—

Student Council ‘of Dallas Junior
High School recently spent an
eventful day on a trip. They left
at crack of dawn via Martz bus and
journeyed to Harrisburg where
they toured the Capitol and several
other places of interest. They then
went to Hershey Park and were
shown how to make chocolate. They
arrived home later that night.
Mrs. Blanch Keithline, Achley,
Pa., is spending some time with the
Kromn family of Hillcrest Avenue,
Shavertown.
Mrs. [Stanley V. Davies, Parson-
age Street, has returned from Vir-
ginia, after attending the com-
mencement of vher ‘grandson, James
Davies, at Hargrave Military Acad-
emy. During her stay she visited
Mrs. W. M: Williams and Jean
Louise of ‘Sweet Briar, Virginia,
former residents of Dallas. ;
Mrs. Bert Lewis, Woodlawn Ave-
Jr., Fernbrook; also five grandsons,
and George, Thomas and Alan Shav-
er, [Fernbrook.
The Shavers have retired after
luncheonette = business for
17 years in 'Trucksville and five
years in Eatonville. They are mem-
