Mrs. Mary Miha!ic!
Mrs. Mary Mihalick, 49, Harris
Hill Road, died Thursday morning
in Nesbitt Hospital after a long ill-
She was buried Saturday
morning in St. Stephen’s Church
Cemetery, following a Mass of
Requiem in St. Therese’s.
Mrs. Mihalick, a resident of
Trucksville for the past eleven
years, was a former employee of
Trucksville Drugstore, serving there
for six years.
A native of Wales, the former
Mary Williams came to this country
as a child, with her parents. She
was a member of St. Therese’s
Church.
She lost her mother, Ellen O'Shea
Williams, some time ago-
Surviving are: her husband,
George; her father, Thomas Will-
liams; two daughters: Mrs. Joan
Macowski, Dallas; Mrs. Barbara
Rose, Trucksville, a brother, John
Williams, Trucksville.

Buried In Berwick
four years resident of Lehman,
where she made her home with her
daughter Mrs. Howard Ehret, died
Sunday night at General Hospital,
where she had been admitted that
morning. She was buried Wednes-
day afternoon in Berwick, following
services conducted by Rev. Norman
Tiffany.
Mrs. Comiskey, the former Irene
Boice of Berwick, attended Lehman
Methodist Church. Her husband
Gerald died thirteen years ago.

The Annual Learn-To-Swim Cam-
paign sponsored by Wilkes-Barre!
Central YMCA will be conducted
June 18 - 29. Youth in the Back
Mountain Area are el igible to par-
ticipate in this program. Both boys
and girls, ages eight through four-
teen, will be given five daily lessons
| during the week of June 18 - 22.
Membership in the YMCA is not
required. There is a small fee for
instruction and bus transportation
to and from Wilkes-Barre.
Bus schedule will be announced at
a later date. For general planning
purposes, children will leave at ap-
proximately 2:30 p.m. and return
about 5:45. Lessons are being held
in the afternoon this year so as not
to conflict with the churches’ vaca-

Wilkes - Barre YMCA Learn-To-
Swim Campaign was one of 147 con~
| ducted in YMCA’s Pennsylvania last
i year. There were 21,552 youngsters
who learned to swim in Pennsylvania
YMCA pools last year. Of this num-
ber 80 were from the Back Moun-
tain Area.
Over 150 Back Mountain boys and
girls participated in the program in
1961. Of this number 136 took the
tests with 80 passing the swimming
section. Another 30 passed the float-
ing test while the remaining 26
passed the test of holding their
breath and ducking their heads
under the water.

at the Back Mountain YMCA.
Mothers of Girl Scout Troop 27
were honored at a Mother's Day Tea '
and Program at Dallas Methodist
Church on Mother’s Day. The pro-
gram was planned by the girls with |

Valley, Joel Rood will be ordained
Wednesday evening, June 6. Offici-
ating will be Rev. William Hughes.
The special service is set for 7:45.
The candidate for ordination to
the Christian Ministry is a student at
Johnson Bible College, who is
presently preaching at Thorn Grove,
on the outskirts of Knoxville, Ten-
nessee. He expects to remain at the
college for one more year, to com-
plete requirements for a degree in
