a resolution was adopted to approve
a tentative budget, as amended,
for the school year 1962-1963, which
sets forth therein expenditures in
{the total amount of $1,139,750.00,

per dollar (7.80) per hundred dol-
lars of assessed valuation on real
estate; a per capita tax of $5.00
per taxable person, under authority

son, under authority of Act 481 of

BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED
by the Borough of Dallas in coun-
cil assembled, and it is hereby enact-
ed and ordained by the authority
of the same as follows.
Section One — NAME — The com-
mission created by this ordinance
shall be known as ‘Dallas Borough
Planning Commission.”
Section Two — CREATION — The
members of said commission shall
initially be appointed by a majority
of council present in assembly at the
first regular meeting of council fol-
lowing the enactment of this ordi-
nane. In the first instance, one
member shall be appointed for five
years, and ome for four years, one
for three years, one for two years,
and one for one year. Annually
thereafter at the January meeting
of council one member shall be
appointed for a term of five years.
In the event of a vacancy, council
shall fill such vacancy for the um-
expired term. The term: of office
of each member of the Commission
shall commence the first day of
February of the year of his ap-
pointment and shall continue until
his successor has been appointed
and qualified; provided, however,
that the term of office of the mem-
bers originally appointed shall com-
mence on the first day of the month
following their appointment but, for
purposes of computation of their
terms in office, shall be deemed to
have commenced on the first day
of February of the year of their
appointment, For all intents and
purposes the Borough Engineer and
the Chairman of the Borough
Council sall be members ex-officio
of said Commission: All members
shall serve without compensation.
Section Three — Organization —
The commission shall hold its first
annual meeting in the month fol-
lowing the initial appointment of
the members thereof, and shall at
its annual meeting elect a chairman
and, a secretary, whose duty it shall
be to keep minutes of all meetings
of said Commission. In years follow=
ing the year 1962, the Commission
shall hold its annual meeting in
February. The Commission may
make and adopt rules and reg
tions for its organization, and
hold regular and special meetings
as mecessary in the interim between
its annual meetings:
Section Four — POWERS AND
DUTIES — The powers and duties
of said commission shall be those
several powers and duties as set
forth in, the Act of General Assem-
‘bly, July 10th, 1947, P. L. 1621,
as amended; provided, however, that
they are not inconsistent with any
ordinance of the Borough of Dallas
of with any law of the Common=
wealth of Pennsylvania.
Section Five—ADDITIONAL
DUTIES — The Planning Commis-
sion shall assume all of the pow=-
ers and duties of a Dallas Borough
Zoning Commission, as set forth in
the Act of General Assembly. July
10th, 1947, P. L.. 1961, as amend-
ed.
Section Six — REPEALER — Any
ordinance or parts of ordinances
inconsistent with this ordinance are
hereby repealed. If any part or
parts of this ordinance are adjudged
to be unlawful, the remaining parts
shall remain in force and effect.
